Good bit of kit.
As a rule I don't use bite alarms but I thought I'd better have one just in case the need arose. I didn't want to spend a lot on something that not going to get a lot of use. I came across the VX2 Bite Alarm by NGT...at a price I could not refuse. This is a very compact alarm much smaller than the brick sized items I've had many years before. Black in colour it also comes with a LRV08 Alkaline battery and a very handy green nylon storage case. An easy set up with metal screw thread fitting. Variable volume and tone controls. A latching 20 second LED. Jack socket and is waterproof. It works a treat. Loud enough to wake the dead. How did I ever manage.

Not waterproof
These are a good cheap standby. They work well, just remember to remove the batteries when not in use. Cannot guarantee they are waterproof though.

They are excellent.
I've had 4 of these. They are excellent. They are very sensitive. Sound frequency is proportional to speed of line movement. They work equally well for forward and backward line movement. My original pair are about 5 years old and going strong. They dont accidentally switch on in your bag. The battery flap is easy to open without tools, but doesnt come open on its own. They look and seem cheap, but they work well and can take rain and abuse. Ive tried for years to find a better, more professional bite detector.

Night bait alarm
Great product at it's intended purpose, had an issue with a missing battery but wonderful customer service, shout out to jack who helped me along the way!! Deffo gonna buy more in the future!! Loud and effective! I'm a heavy as sleeper, my partner has discovered they wake me up instantly 😂😂 so there fun for all!!

Bite alarm.
I've not been carp fishing for very long and thought I'd pair one of my carp rods with it. The alarm cost next to nothing but I have nothing but praise for it. It's easy to use, you can change the volume easily and it's loud enough for anyone to hear. A great little piece of kit that I would recommend to anyone starting out carp fishing.

Better than expected given the price
Used for a few sessions now, not the best built obviously given the low cost but better than expected and I have caught a lot of fish using it and its been a solid alarm and is loud if you need it to be
