Not just the best, not just the only, just a superior product
I started wearing braces back in high school when I would get my pops’ hand me downs. He wore Red Wings, Amish cords, bow ties & bespoke shirts made from eccentric fabrics & stamped or engraved buttons. Red Wings were affordable & repairable, my mom was a costume designer and private clothier when she could find work, Amish cords were cheap, tough and cut for a working man to be comfortable doing most any task in at least 3 seasons. But the Amish dont use buttons, snaps or zippers so their pants are trifold across the front fastened with brads (like cuff links) which make the perfect place to attach braces. Fast forward to 30yrs of working in the service sector and trades and my hips start to ache & climbing scaffolds or wearing a bat belt is rough. Enter the 2” contractor braces with flat, plastic clamps and adjustment clips. Perfect for slipping a brush or pencil under or hanging a baggie of fasteners or sponges off of, no sharp edges sticking out that damage drywall, paint or wood, custom clasps that hold on to your wait band like a bear trap. They also hold up your pants w/o binding where ever is most comfortable to you. Plus now that the studly TikTok influencer that grunts like a tennis pro when he swings an axe is hot you don’t look like a mustachioed hipster or old timer selling produce at a fruit stand. For y.all truckers, LEO and guys stuck behind a desk make sure you check out the shoulder holster style too.

Great "trucker" suspenders, great price
For years I had been looking for a pair of suspenders that would work well for me during birding and other outdoor activities. I had a pair of 4-points with plastic-toothed clips that held well and didn't ruin my clothing--liked them very much; however, to use the facilities during these activities, one pretty much has to strip down to the suspenders so as to slide off the straps to drop your drawers; unclip the front, and you're toast. Then, I found the 2-point "trucker" style with shoulder holster style straps that clip on the side. Great idea that solves the strip-down problem. The brand I got first had great straps, but the all-metal, aggressively toothed clips absolutely devoured my clothing. Turns out that suspender clips that are both secure and non-destructive are extremely hard to find. Enter the Holdup brand trucker style suspenders with Jumbo Composite Plastic Gripper Clips. These are essentially the same trucker style suspenders I had before but with terriffic new grip clips. Those clips are exactly what I needed: they operate easily, hold securely, and are easy to reclip after using the facilities. I haven't had them long enough for a report on long-term performance, but over a couple of weeks they have served me well, and the clips haven't budged even a smidge. No damage at all to natural or synthetic materials, either. The only "problem" I have had is that the shoulder straps have proven to be just a tiny bit too long for my short torso, so that when I sinch up the straps to the proper length for me using the sliding adjustment buckles, the buckles almost end up on top of my shoulders. This can be uncomfortable when wearing a pack or something else of significant weight with a shoulder strap. I doubt that most people will ever experience this situation, though. Also, as the Jumbo Composite Plastic Gripper Clips are available separately, I just might buy another pair of grips and switch out the grips on my previous pair of trucker suspenders. Straps are the same size. These new composite plastic grips are wonderful.

Makes air travel much less of a hassle
Some people wear suspenders proudly, while others won't even consider them. I was in the latter group, but once I tried suspenders (for comfort while recuperating from surgery), I quickly became a convert. I had thought that constantly tugging on your jeans was just one of life's fundamental principles. It's not. And if you don't like the look, they work fine under your shirt. Anyway, I bought 3 different kinds: Dickies, HoldUp Suspender Company, and Carhartt heavy duty. DICKIES: The Dickies are my favorite. PROs: they are inexpensive and the material is lighter, stretchier, and more comfortable. I am less aware of wearing them. They are my go-to for everyday, informal use. CONs: None. The HoldUps. These are the TSA compliant version. (Buy two, so you have a spare in case one breaks while traveling.) PROs: They make air-travel much less of a hassle. These are also a little nicer and would be more appropriate for a suit, although they would certainly work with jeans. They have a wide range of materials, colors, and hardware. CONs: The material is thicker and more rubberized, so you are more aware of wearing them and they are a little hotter in summer. Also the length adjustments are plastic and seem prone to slip, but not a big deal, and a worthwhile tradeoff to avoid TSA hassles. Expensive vs. the Dickies. The Carhartt's. These are for heavy-duty work environments. PROs: Oversize, high-quality hardware means they will almost always stay attached and that they will hold up heavy loads--think heavy waterproof pants for for fire-fighters, etc. (Still, they work perfectly fine with jeans.) CONs: They are heavy, 2" wide, and you are always conscious of wearing them. Expensive vs. the Dickies. (Same review posted for Dickies, HoldUp, and Carhartt.)

Very good suspenders with great clip but length adjustment slips a bit.
I've used these for about a week now. They work quite well and are very comfortable. The clasp is very strong and i have had no problem with them coming undone. I believe that I've seen other reviews that complain of the pivot pin backing out of the clasp. So far I've seen no evidence of that problem with these. If i see any evidence i'll update the review. My fix will be do simply apply a small amount of superglue if it becomes a problem. The other minor annoyance I've noticed is that the plastic length adjuster slips a little too easily while under tension - resulting in the suspenders lengthening during the day. Perhaps the gaps that the straps pass through are slightly too wide, producing too little friction or perhaps the under side of the adjuster is a bit too smooth (it is grooved to provide some traction) or a combination of the two. My solution was simply to place a piece of rubber (a homemade ranger band cut from a bicycle inner tube) between the two straps as the pass through the adjuster. This provides the needed additional friction to prevent slippage. I won't need to adjust these until they begin to stretch out, so the small additional care that is required when adjusting shouldn't be a problem. So, i quite like these. The clips hold very firmly and the adjuster can easily be tweaked should there be slippage. I'd buy again.

They keep my shorts/pants in place.
I bought these due to their TSA compatibility. They are comfortable and work as expected. The clasps work well with no slippage. I will be ordering the tan colored suspenders soon.

Does the job, but uncomfortable compared to the regular ones
I've used this brand for years, but never used the "TSA friendly" plastic version before. It did the job, held my pants up, and didn't set off any alarm bells when I went through the scanner. However it's just not as comfortable as the regular version with the metal clips. It uses huge bulky adjusters (thicker than my finger, see photo) to adjust the length rather than the Velcro of the other version. They create visible bulges and I can feel them when I put my arms down, which is very annoying. I'm not sure why this design made it through when the Velcro works just as well, is mostly flat, and it's still airport friendly. The plastic clips that attach to the clothing are also bigger than the metal clips on the normal version, and so they dug into me when I was sitting on the airplane. Not sure if anything could really be done about that. I'll probably still wear them when I need to fly but that's it.

Not great
Get a traditional set of braces instead of these. They dont really hold up your pants.
