V-Dog Crunchy Nuggets Vegan Dog Food – High-Protein Plant-Based Kibble for Dogs, 15kg

My dog loves these biscuits. He has had other vegan dog biscuits that he's not been so keen on, but he always finishes these.

I’d hate to think that I am contributing to deforestation, emptying oceans, climate change and the exploitation and killing of innocent animals. A lot of meat based dog foods only contain a small percentage of meat which could be took from any part of the animal including hidden nasties which is why I wanted my Labrador and miniature labradoodle to try V dog. I gradually introduced it to the food they were already on and was sceptical if they would like it at first but I have found that they both love it! The biscuits are quite big so I soak them in a bit of water before giving them to my smaller dog to make them easier for him to eat. Both my dogs seem happy, healthy and energetic on this food. The only set back is the cost as it’s almost double the price of most meat flavoured nuggets.

My dog absolutely loves this food! She's 9 years old now and I put some water in with the food to make it soft and easy for her to eat. The ingredients are excellent, very nutritious and avoid allergens. My dog is thriving on it and is very healthy, my friends two dogs are too.

Good quality dog food, my dog has a sensitive digestive system so this food suits him much better than others. I top his meals up with home cooked meat, fish and veg, so no he isn’t 100% vegan. He always enjoys his meals and his overall health and coat is excellent. There’s definitely product inconsistency between orders. Kibble size differs and colour can be much darker/oily which requires some tweaking of quantity to avoid unwanted weight gain.

Owning a dog and bonding with an animal opened my eyes to the problems with meat production and consumption. After rescuing a dog from the meat trade in China, it seemed hypocritical to me to then feed her with the bodies of victims of a different meat trade. As a vegan, I don't want to support the slaughter of animals, but I also want the best for my dogs. Prior to becoming vegan, meat content was always the first thing I looked for in a food, so this has been new territory for me. Having fed Benovo dog food to one of my dogs before with success, I thought I would try this because it seemed good value. Dylan, who loved Benovo kibble, ate this, but didn't seem to enjoy it as much. A few times he turned his nose up at it, but adding nutritional yeast seemed to help him eat it. Rue, my rescue, seemed to enjoy this much more than him, but I have been mixing it in with a puppy food for her as she is still young. She also enjoys the pieces as treats during training. Unfortunately, whilst I appreciate the ethics of this company and one of my dogs certainly seems to enjoy it, I have also noticed that poops are more frequent and less firm, so once I have used this up I will move onto something different.

My dogs love this food. It’s ethical and hopefully will extend the health and life of my dogs. When my dogs eat vegan food they have more energy and all the tear staining reduces considerably. Who wants to have an animal for a pet and feed it animals? Where is the sense in that? Value for money if I buy the 15kg bag lasts me 3 months for 2 small dogs. I would buy again.
