Good for antique woods and use indoors.
I use this for stripping old gun stocks and so I cant really say how good it is at other things such as paint but its great for what I want. Generally my stocks are about 150 years old and they have a mix of oils, stains, and dirt etc and this really gives a even finish. I dont really go too deep as im not after quality etc but you can really see the difference. Plu I use it in the house and it doesnt make me ill. It has a distinctive smell but I feel that its quite harmless. It doesnt run and works in 30 minutes. After the wood is a little damp and so it needs to dry out but by the next day you can sand it down. I tend to use 2 coats. Im not sure what other strippers do and maybe they do the same thing but I have not been displeased with this. Because im not taking a think coat of paint or varnish off there is little to get rid of but I use dishwashing scourers to clean the gook off after. I do the work in the kitchen with a rag on the floor but really, its not splashy or runny and after I just wash the brush under the tap and its good for next time. I give this 5 stars as I actually enjoy this part of the job, I really feel like I have the right tool. I do recall that it came in super over the top packaging, I think it had several wraps of bubble wrap which is good considering its a chemical. It took me a while to figure out how to open it. I thought you pulled up the flap handles and pulled a spout up and out like on oil cans but all you do is unscrew it. It makes a ratchet sound which is what made me think I was doing it wrong. I dont think the price is too much but considering the age of my items I didnt really want to experiment with cheaper alternatives. Its prety thick and I can see this running out quick if your stripping big things but its lasting plenty for me.

A good paint stripper!
This paint stripper did a good job on a wooden filing cabinet I was renovating. It doesn't smell too bad and was pleased to see it's free from the harmful chemical methylene chloride. Protect your eyes, nose, mouth and skin nonetheless! Only bloody annoying thing is the tiny opening that you can barely pour the stuff out of or get a decent brush into. I opened mine with a tin opener just so I could get to the product. Big design flaw!

Read the Instructions and it works very well indeed, remember gentleness takes time to work!
I read the instructions and had the time to do the job. I have a small dark varnished orphan from a nest of Ercol tables and I wanted to take this beautiful elm table back to its natural wood colour. I applied a thick gel coat to the underside first (after shaking it thoroughly) and left it for a half hour in a warm room. Time and a bit later I carefully scraped the dark varnish away with an old bank card and was amazed at the beautiful wood grain it revealed the top was treated in the same manner, with the same result. The table was wiped with white spirit to neutralise the gel residue and is now drying for 24 hours ready to be finished, probably with Danish Oil.

Very difficult to open !
I used this product to remove varnish from a small table top which had water damage. As others have said the instructions on how to open the product is unsatisfactory to say the least . Thank goodness for Amazon reviews otherwise I wouldnโt have got it open. You need to pull up a plastic funnel then you can unscrew the top. The product itself was good . I wanted a thicker consistency rather than a liquid which is which this is. I repeated the application three times which got most of the varnish removed then sanded it before revarnishing.

Gentle but effective removal for antiques
Perfectly and kindly removed old varnish from an antique towel rail. I applied this with an old toothbrush it worked very well, I cleaned and removed it with white spirit and then finished with a light sanding. It's done an amazing job, I highly recommend.

works well
I used this to strip a small antique carved stool which had been stained , badly , with a deep ebony stain or varnish. It works well, but I did have to use liberally and more than once for each area, just reapply , it was time consuming but didn't mind that, think it would work even better on a flat surface area. I used small sculpting tool to get in between the carvings to strip it after application.

Disappointing
Possibly the worst product I have ever purchased. The lid is the most difficult to open needing pneumatic hands to pull up the interior heavy duty bag which contains the stripper. I was eager to start as have a lot of intricate detail/relief to strip which I could not do in the outhouse. I so hoped this would do the job and save me a lot of time and hard work on just the carved panels . The product did not work at all even after applying 2 coats. Smell isn't too bad, consistency is easy to manage. Photos show sanded parts, after applying product to the detailed squares they are still the same so for me it's back to hand sanding a rather large project.

Game changer
Recently purchased my first house and decided to up-cycle some dining room chairs to keep costs down, however, I had the task of removing all the varnish from the very detailed chairs I purchased ahead of me which I was not looking forward to. This, whilst smelling so much better than any other strippers I've used in the past, made the job quick and easy. I also managed to drop some of this on the carpet without noticing and it didn't discolour it at all! :O
