How do you know it's charging?

You don’t, as there is no “charging light” to go by, but if you leave it on for an hour or so and try it you will see whether it’s charging or not. I usually leave mine on charge overnight then it’s fully charged for the next week or so.

How longer does it take to charge?

I always charge it once a week , after the morning use until the evening use so probably 8-10 hours , I'm not sure if this is longer than necessary ,this is the first time I've had a brush without a low battery warning light .
