Hama Sonic Mobil PC Speakers x2 | USB 3.0 | 3.5 mm Jack | 3 Watt Active Speakers | Black/Red | Stereo

Bought these as an addition to an old PC I keep in the garage so that I could play background music while I was working on my hobby project. USB port powered (so no need to find yet another socket for a power supply) and fed via 3.5mm jack plug, so literally "plug and play", While not loud in an absolute fashion, the sound produced is clear and undistorted up to what I would consider "normal" levels of play back. An effective and tidy solution to my problem.

I am hard to please to a level I am willing write a good review, according to my wife. I felt like writing one for these speakers. that too immediately after delivery and opening the box. I have many pc speakers including Creative Inspire T10, an old Logitech 2.1 speaker system (can't remember the exact model) and Logitech Z200. i am used to the sound quality of Bose noise cancellation headphones, Sonos speakers, Anker and Sony speakers. Considering the size, looks and price paid the sound quality of these speakers is very good. They are better than Logitech Z200. Very balanced tone and base and at full volume ( from a ThinkPad X260, there was no distortion. I am cannot say anything about durability. certainly very portable. they look small-ish even next a 12 inch screen. Would definitely but again.

I bought these speakers to go with on old monitor I had for my xbox one using a hdmi to vga adapter. I connected the USB power to the back of the xbox and that's pretty much all the setup I had to do. The speakers get surprisingly loud and even though there isn't loads of bass, I wouldn't describe them as tinny. The attached video shows the speakers at full volume from around 2 meters away. The audio is a little distorted at full volume but I have found I only need around 50% volume when playing games or watching video. The volume can be controlled with the dial attached to the cable. The only way to turn them off is by disconnecting the power which is a little annoying. They are nice and small and light so good if you're looking for something portable. I took a chance on these but I am so far happy with the purchase and would recommend. I'll update my review if anything changes as time goes by.

Overall: ⭐⭐⭐ Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality: ⭐⭐⭐ Volume: ⭐⭐ These are some of the cheapest speakers I could find (£9 at time). Initially I thought the sound quality was "good" but the main thing that bugged me was the max volume of the speakers wasn't very loud (playing some videos the "max" volume was about normal conversation level). I purchased some "OROW" speakers (£11) to see if they were any better... These are also USB-powered but found them to be MUCH louder and actually noticeably better sound quality so I am returning my Hama speakers. The attached video shows me comparing both speakers side-by-side So I'd recommend these if you need a really cheap set of speakers or only planning to use them occasionally. However if you plan on using your speakers a fair bit I would recommend getting a different set rather than these ones (sorry).

I know these were not expensive but they were not even as good as the ones on my screen which is why I wanted them.
