The most effective thing EVER on matted fur. Slices right through without causing discomfort to my dog. Amazing!!

It works pretty well on cats with small matts in their fur. If, like one of ours, the fur just naturally forms matts of impressive size, it tends to get jammed and tug and this particular cat (unlike her sister) is a tad nervous. But used with good judgement and knowledge of the cat concerned it DOES split the matt. So yes, I'd recommend the matt splitter with the cautions, I've given.

Just read the other reviews & I was shocked. In the first photo this is fur from my dog's mane around his neck. It always gets tangled from the collar. I was able to detangle one side in less than two minutes & my dog loved it. The 2nd photo shows how to keep the blade parallel to the dog's skin. 3rd photo show how NOT TO USE this dematter.Important things to remember before using this very effective and yes, potentially dangerous bladedd tool:1) READ ALL DIRECTIONS BEFORE USING. It's easy to just take it out & try to use it. But the blade is essentially a razor.The directions specifically states, keep the blade parallel with the dog's skin. Never pinch-up skin or positon the tool upside-down or perpendicular to the dog's body.2) Use small strokes, about 2-3 inches (5-7cm) passes.3) Don't use on a dog who moves around during grooming. This could cause the blade to cut the skin.Overall, I was so pleased with this tool. My dog's neck & hind quarters get matted as he's got a heavy coat in these areas.Again, I'm sad to see cuts to a dog's skin but I believe if used with care.THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY POWERFUL & HELPFUL TOO TO CONTROL MATTING DOG FUR

This is a total game changer! I have a long haired Cocker Spaniel who is always getting matts in her coat. I really didn't want to have her coat clipped, and this has solved my problem. So easy to use and takes the stress out of grooming her. I totally recommend this product. Such a simple solution but works so well! 😄

Too small for bigger dogs, and item is small and difficult to manipulate.

Simple but very effective little pet grooming tool. Sits safely and unobtrusively in the palm of your hand until needed so doesn’t spook the animal. Almost impossible to cut the skin, and the blade is sharp enough to make easy work of removing knots, tangles and clumps.

Detangles my dogs' beards in a quarter of the time it usually takes me, oh the joy! My only concern is that with over use I don't expect there would be much in the way of face furnishings left, it does the job almost too well. Even so, I'm really impressed with it. The design makes it very safe for using around noses and gums and it doesn't tug too much. Feels nice and comfy in the hand as well.

I hadn't realised this type of splitter was available. Having struggled for years with Cocker Spanials long ears to get the lugs out. It is such a good tool. You can split a thick lug as many times as necessary, to make jungle more manageable. You need to be careful not to force the point through heavy handed as I thick it would break. It is a tool you need to store safely as blade very sharp, as it needs to be. I would recommend. Just wish I had discovered sooner.

I have a 97 lb overgrown cotton swab whose mats are a constant battle 😩 This little tool has saved me hundreds of dollars on professional groomers ! Easy to use and works great. Only issue is that you can't really sharpen the blade once it dulls

Wirklich tolles Teil. Gesehen in Youtube Video und gleich bestellt. Funktioniert sehr gut, man muss nur ein bisschen aufpassen, da die Klinge sehr scharf ist und man mit der Spitze den Hund auch stechen könnte. Wenn man alles richtig macht, funktioniert es aber wunderbar und einfach, und man bekommt stark verfilzte Stellen super schnell entfilzt.
