Does the job and lasts.
This is an excellent knife sharpener. Fine side good for metal removal, very fine side for a sharp edge.Does not wear out

Good kit
I have several dmt diamond sharping stones and use them regularly being as I'm a carpenter. I also use them to sharpen gardening tools and my kitchen knives.I have tried other brands because they are cheaper but ended up having to buy dmt to replace them.This doubled sided stone is great for getting a really keen edge after using the coarser grades, with the bonus of the continuous diamond to sharpen small stuff.The other bonus was this was about half price so quids in.

Relatively easy to use for an amateur, but no magic solution for sharpening fabric scissors - although I am accustomed to using a scythe stone and a steel for knives, neither was appropriate for scissors, which is why I bought this. Hopefully I’ll become more expert with the aid of YouTube videos…I certainly feel that this will be durable and still useful next time I take it out of my tool bag. It has a good integral cover to protect it from the other idiots in my household who might want to take it out and leave it in the rain!!!

Not amazing
Stiff handles, abrasives don't cover the full face on each side. I've had much better from DMT and am disappointed with this tool.

Endlich richtig scharf!
Ich habe alles versucht, um meine guten (Taschen-) Messer wieder auf die Schärfe zu bringen, die sie bei der Auslieferung hatten. Vergeblich. Ja, sie wurden ordentlich scharf, aber das letzte Quäntchen Schärfe fehlte immer: ich bekam sie einfach nicht rasiermesserscharf. Dann sah ich auf YouTube ein Video von Schmiedeglut zum DMT Diafold fein/extrafein. Damit sollte das recht einfach und schnell möglich sein? Also geht das doch ohne ein 8-teiliges, bei Vollmond von Jungfrauen bearbeitetes, japanisches Wasserstein-Set und stundenlangen Schleifsessions?Hmmm, wenn die Profis von Schmiedeglut das sagen. Die sollten das ja schon wissen. Aber über 50€ für ein weiteres Experiment? Egal! Bestellt und obwohl nicht über Amazon ausgeliefert, kam das Schmiedeglut-Päckchen zusammen mit einer zeitgleich ausgelösten prime-Bestellung bei mir an. RESPEKT Schmiedeglut! Das ist schnell.Nun zum Ergebnis: aufgrund der bereits gut vorbereiteten (will sagen nicht völlig stumpfer oder schlecht geschliffener oder gar defekter) Klingen, hatte ich in kürzester Zeit all meine Messer (Viper, Spyderco, EKA, Gerber, Victorinox etc.) auf Rasiermesserschärfe gebracht. Endlich! Zum Teil reichte die extra feine Schleifseite dafür völlig aus. Dass die exakte Einhaltung des Schleifwinkels für ein perfektes Ergebnis Grundbedingung ist, muss dem Anwender natürlich klar sein. Da darf man nicht gleich aufgeben, sondern es bedarf hier einiger Übung, insbesondere in Richtung Klingenspitze.Ich jedenfalls bin absolut begeistert und kann das Teil guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen. Gut investiertes Geld. Die Vorteile sind aus meiner Sicht: ein einziges Teil und kein Set, trocken zu benutzen, ideal für unterwegs. Zudem ermöglichen die 2 unterschiedlichen Feinheitsgrade (fein und extra fein) auch - falls erforderlich - spürbaren Materialabtrag (feine Seite).Was will man mehr? Meine Suche hat hiermit jedenfalls endlich ein Ende :-)

I love me some DMT. Have thousands in DMT products and have yet to be let down. (minus a used item that someone swapped items in the box)

If I had to only pick one, this would be it.
My favourite brand for easy to carry double grain sharpener. This one is made for ceramic blades. I use it on high HRC steel blades and it's very efficient. Mine has no play with no foldable handles.
