Is the bar solid Stainless Steel or chrome plated regular steel that flakes off?

It looks chrome plated, but have not had any issues with the chrome flaking off.

Can you order replacement lock ring/nut? Mine was only shipped with one.

the manufacturer was unresponsive when i queried them after i had my initial shipment shipped to me with one side of the box broken, meaning that i only had one lock ring/nut in the initial package. i had a return processed through the amazon app with a replacement that had both lock rings/nuts. i would recommend that instead.
