Good quality works as shown. Hovers like 5/8 maybe not quite 3/4 of an inch. If the power is interrupted the bulb falls to surface, it's happened a few times, the magnets in the base catch it. So far the falls have not hurt a thing. Looks great, would highly recommend this.

I'm setting up a little YouTube studio and I ordered a few different accent lights for the background and I was looking for stuff that was interesting. This certainly ticked that box. This levitating lamp is very cool looking and I'm impressed with the functionality and how it actually works at all floating in the air. It took a couple of tries to get it balanced right at the proper point for it to hover, but it was fairly easy. The lamp comes with its own power supply with a barrel connector that plugs into the base, and once you've got it plugged in, you simply touch the power button on top of the base. I like that the power button blends in fairly well with the wood finish instead of having some garish color standing out on the wood base. It's very subtly and done nicely. That goes for the rest of the lamp. It's extremely well made, nicely finished, and everything just has a polished look about it. I've already got it set up in the studio for making my videos and I'm sure it will look great just hovering in the air like that. Plus, if you can do it without taking the bulb out of its magnetically locked hover state, you can spin it while it's in the air and it keeps going round and round for quite a long while. This is quality work, has a more professional touch to it and definitely worth the money. I can't really speak to its lifespan since I just got it, but since it's LED technology, I would think it'll last for quite a long time as long as everything else inside the base is good. Very cool item for the office.

Okay so some ppl say it falls off the base and breaks when you lose power, and you can't buy a replacement bulb. However I have found this to be untrue. When a power loss happens, the bulb looses it's levatation and magnetizes directly to the base and tips over. No breakage has occurred and we've lost power a handful of times. Very VERY cute, many compliments from guests! Does not get hot. Plug in and enjoy!!

This works even better than I would have thought. It levitates and spins on it's own, it looks great and it's unique. It isn't hard at all to find the "sweet spot" for it to float. The science nerd in me geeks out whenever I look at it. The bulb is bright enough to see during the day but not too bright as to be distracting. Definitely worth the money if you like unique, nerdy accent pieces on your home. Now if they only made a giant one!

This is super cool! It almost doesn't look real! I put this on my desk at work and it's a real conversation starter.

It is beautiful but sadly it doesn't illuminate that much, ending up being more a novelty and beautiful piece of art, than actually a usable lamp
