Incredible enjoyable & (surprisingly) very educational for kids!
I found this when searching for random Mega Man stuff on Amazon as my son wanted to do a Mega Man themed 8th birthday party. I didn't buy it at the time, but went wild and bought it a couple months later when I noticed the price drop a few bucks. Simply put: 5/5 fun factor, 5/5 replayability. And suitable for kids a LOT younger than 14 if they can handle a game requiring some strategy and where there's a decent number of rules to keep in mind at all times. Appreciation for Mega Man video games also helps to make the game more appealing and interesting. Probably the best ~$40 I have spent in a very long time, period. He and I play this game all of the time. I keep it on a small card table in my home office, and it works great to play a little (or a lot) in a sitting, and then continue whenever we're bored for a few minutes. It is a wonderful introduction to some strategy and higher-order thinking, and since it is fully collaborative, we can help each other with ideas and strategies. The game needed me as the adult to understand and digest the rule book and smooth some things over in our first several attempts at the game, but after playing through a handful more times, my 8-year-old has that all as fully grasped as I do. Bonus points to the game for challenging him to think about not only what is going to be best for what he has to overcome, but what will also help me, too--and ultimately reasonable risk vs. unreasonable risk. The instructions should have been better written. They're not bad, but could have made several things more directly obvious. (But you kinda figure it all out after playing a few times, as mentioned, and as other reviewers mention, too.) Also though, it's not like this is chess and you will be internationally ridiculed if you make up your own rules about how to move a bishop. Tons of opportunity for "house rules". (Right now, we're playing our own "full game" campaign where we select master robots to battle (no randomness), play through all of them from a specific video game (the game comes with Mega Man 1 / 2 / 3 master robots, earn and keep all of the weapons, and then strategically choose which weapons we should each use from our pool for the next pair of master robots we choose to face--and then go into the Dr. Wily boss robots for the corresponding game. It's cool to see him engaged in planning and evaluating pros and cons of which master robots to face given our weapons or our to fine-tune which weapons we choose to ultimately use.) Also, the pieces and materials of the game provide visual reminders of *some* of the rules and procedures, but you still need to keep a few things committed to memory. I would have liked some pieces to overlay onto stage and boss pattern cards when needed, e.g. when the master robot cards create variations to the cards like jump -> run or shoot -> wait, etc. Or something to indicate that you can always reroll dice for 1 weapon energy or that if you have a master robot's weakness, you can also spend that weapon's energy to roll a new die. As there is a lot going on, it is still easy for us to forget to deploy these varying rules on occasion. But again, this has just been a top-notch, super-fun, and actually **very educational** thing to share with my kid!

Love it
This is a pretty niche purchase. I am a huge Megaman fan and it checks all the boxes for me. However, trying to explain it to my family was a little difficult, however, just like any other game, they came around to it. It is quite easy to understand and fun to play. We love it.

Very fun, kinda challenging
Got this as a gift and have played several rounds so far. Took a little trial and error but we have thoroughly enjoyed it. The game is well made and I really like the acrylic characters.

My son is a huge MegaMan fan and the title is hard to find in the US. He was beyond excited to receive it as a gift.

Setup takes time, game is difficult
I'll be honest, we made it through the setup one time, played for about 5 minutes, then decided we needed to study the instructions a bit better to grasp the full context of the game play. This is a super cool tabletop game if you're a Mega Man fan, which we are, but setup takes a while and it's not a fast game. I recommend it to anyone who has the time to set it up (we kinda don't as we work full time and have a kid), who doesn't have pets that will carry off the pieces (again, that's not us... we have a thieving cat!), and who has the mental fortitude to read through the rules several times to learn how to play (I'm exhausted just thinking about it!). But overall, it's a totally cool game, definitely worth adding to your collection even if you just end up having it and not actually playing it, and the concept is really cool! I can see myself having a little more time for this once my kiddo is about 10 or so and can help with setup and learning the rules. If you're on the fence, just get it and go from there!

Love this game! If you are a Mega Man fan you can’t go wrong but even those who didn’t grow up with the video game can appreciate and enjoy this co-op game. Very fun gameplay and excellent replay-ability, lots of ways to change things up and make the game more challenging. Can be tough, winning is not easy, but we have fun playing even when we lose
