use as a radio tuner possible
Original item faulty, virtually no sound output through built in speaker or headphone, whatever input was chosen. Phoned Azatom, very helpful lady, the next day I received a fully working replacement in the post together with postage bag and pre-paid delivery label to return the faulty original. Radio (DAB and FM) is easy to use and also the Bluetooth input and aux in. Haven't tried the alarm function but not why I bought it. Sound quality via the built in speaker is ok for the type of unit (small and cheap), speech very acceptable, music a lot better than a mobile phone but not suitable for serious listening. Good undistorted volume. Sound quality via good quality (Sony) headphones definitely a lot better but wouldn't describe it as hi-fi, either using FM, DAB, Bluetooth or aux inputs. Note both FM and DAB outputs via the headphone socket are in stereo, something I couldn't determine from the info before purchase. Bought the radio mainly to use as an FM tuner via an external sound system eg TV sound bar. The small size of the radio is good for this. Sound quality outputting the signal from the headphone socket to an external hi-fi is very much better than via the internal speaker (as expected) but as with the headphones isn't really hi-fi. Will probably be ok for my intended use, mainly for background listening to a local radio FM station through a TV sound bar. The signal level through the headphone output seems a little low (but satisfactory) for my hi-fi, even with the radio volume on max the hi-fi sound doesn't quite reach the sound levels of other hi-fi inputs. Note I have not heard any significant distortion from this radio, other than if listening to weak channels (the tuner does not seem particularly sensitive but should be ok for the main channels I listen to). There is very low level noise through the headphone output, only noticeable during quiet passages with the volume up high. In summary a cheap generally well designed easy to us little radio which can be used as a stereo FM/DAB tuner for an external sound system although not really hi-fi quality sound. Seems quite solidly built for the price. Excellent customer support in replacing the original faulty item.

GOOD CLEAR SOUND AND EASY TO SET UP
I ordered this Dab Digital Bedside FM radio to replace a rather old fashioned one which had a radio which had very poor reception for my husband's birthday. From the moment I plugged the radio into the mains, it intuitively displayed the correct date, day and time and I was really impressed that I did not have to bother with the tedious task of having to scroll through the system to enter those myself. It has headphone socket, aux socket and can be powered by batteries too and its compact size does not take up a lot of space on the bedside cabinet. The performance and reception of this radio is excellent both for music and speech, sound is superb and I even tested the bluetooth connection from my iPhone and that was very easy to set up too. Although I have only had this radio/alarm for a day, all in all, I think it is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality piece of kit at a very reasonable price. I have to admit to being a bit more technically savvy than my better half even at 71 years of age but even he can find his way around the buttons and controls so I am confident that now everything is set up, I can confidently leave him to it.

A very nice little radio
A very nice little radio, bought principally for its dual alarm system and its small size. We got it for use in our kitchen and use its alarms to notify us of when to take some tablets. For its tiny size, the sound quality is very good. Obviously, you can't expect it to deliver hi-fi sound, with thumping bass, but it's excellent for listening to speech broadcasts, lovely and clear. The volume level is adequate for most purposes,, but for stations which might have a low output level, as with softly-spoken material, it might not be loud enough for serious listening, but hey, it's not really made for that purpose, is it? The clock time is picked up from DAB broadcast, so it's spot-on accurate, of course. When he clocks went back a few weeks ago, the time didn't change automatically, but by switching the radio off at the mains for several seconds, then turning it back on, the time was synchronised properly. I had feared the memory of the two alarm settings might have been lost, but not so, both were restored perfectly. A very good buy!

Pretty good as a DAB / FM radio & bedside clock
I bought this only as a DAB/FM radio and bedside clock. I have no use for the alarm so i haven't tried that function so this review is all about the device as a bedside radio/clock. The main reason i bought this unit is that my area is not the best for DAB reception so i wanted something with a "proper" aerial and there are surprisingly few manufacturers that make DAB radios with a telescopic aerial rather than a flimsy bit of wire, and I didn't want to spend double or more on one of the competitors like Pure which have bigger displays, and then find i had no reception or just one or two DAB stations. The device itself is quite small, and so therefore is the display, but i can read the figures at night easily, however i only need +2.0 reading glasses. I just measured the digits showing the time and they are 1.5cm high in case you arent sure if you could read them. The display is variably dimmable, between a very low level to a ridiculously bright one such that it would double as a nightlight. Set up was amazingly easy, I unboxed the device, plugged in and literally before I'd put it on my bedside table it was showing the correct time, and started scanning DAB stations without me doing anything. It found 31 stations. Initially for the scan it did need the aerial extended but once it found them i could fold it back in and it seems OK like that. The slightly unintuitive / annoying feature and why I've given 4 not 5 stars is how you move between radio stations. With most radios which have a 'previous' and 'next' button you'd just press that and it would automatically switch to that next or previous station. What you have to do with this, whether going through all stations or just the presets, is press 'next' or previous' and then press 'select'. If you pressed "next" 3 times for example it would move 3 stations up the list but wont start playing that 3rd station until you press "select". That extra step seems unnecessary and would be a pain if you just wanted to search through all stations and see whats on. On the upside, its a clock that doesn't need setting, the radio is good (its DAB/FM) and while I haven't yet tried charging through the USB socket or using it as a bluetooth speaker both of those will likely get some use.

Too bright at night and display flickers during the day. Customer service not answering phone.
First impressions were good. However there are some significant issues. The clock backlight is FAR TOO BRIGHT at night. Even on the dimmest setting. We have to switch it off which defeats one of the main purposes of having a bedside clock. I know it can be switched on manually but it then becomes full brightness first! Not good in the middle of the night! When the alarm does go off and the radio starts playing the backlight, being off, cannot easily be switched ON so you cannot see the time. The backlight control is the same button as the snooze button which then switches the radio off which is obviously not what is required! The clock backlight almost immediately has started flickering during the day. It is most annoying I have tried to contact customer service to discuss these issues but there was no answer using the phone number provided. This was a Friday afternoon. I have also tried to email but apart from an automatic read receipt - no response so far. I now need to find an alternative clock radio! I will be returning this one. Prompt refund on return. Update: bought Roberts ORTUSDAB FM/DAB/DAB+ Digital Clock Radio which is working perfectly.

Small, effective and fairly cheap
I bought this to replace a more expensive Pure unit. The Pure had much better sound and much larger display. Unfortunately it stopped working so I needed a replacement and couldn't afford a new Pure. This is smaller than it looks but seem well enough made. The buttons are a little plasticky and the settings are not entirely intuitive but once set up it all works logically. The small size means a small speaker and a fairly tinny sound. Not too big a problem for waking up but not something I'd like to listen to long term. I haven't tried the headphone or USB sockets yet. It would be interesting to try using an external speaker to see if the sound was any better. It only supports 2 alarms (my Pure had 4) which is a shame since I use different settings for weekday and weekend but like having the option of a third, early morning, call when I need to catch an early flight/train. For the price it seems to be a reasonable purchase.

incompatibilidad con enchufe español
no he podido probarlo dado que viene con enchufe ingles y en España ese conector no funciona. Entiendo que al enviarlo a España se sobreentiende que debe venir con enchufe europeo.
