Won’t damage pants like the wooden stretchers!
I did a lot of research on pants stretchers and read a ton of reviews before choosing this one. My hard work paid off because this works GREAT and did not damage my jeans the way the wooden style stretcher might.I am a blue jean fanatic. I just love them and some cost more than I care to say. I recently bought a very unique pair of jeans that have a low waist, meaning the waistband sits much lower to the hips, so they were a little too tight to be comfortable when I received them. The key reason I chose this brand is because it clips closed around the button and button hole. The other wooden style requires you to button the jeans before stretching them. This puts a ton of pressure on the button and buttonhole, causing the buttonhole to stretch out and also potentially weakens the rivet of the button. Nooooo thank you! There is no fear of either of those things happening when you use the footfitter stretcher because of the design.I followed the directions by wetting the waistband but in addition to using plain water, I added a tiny amount of hair conditioner. Not a joke. This only works for cotton clothes (I also do it when my tshirts shrink in the dryer). You add about 2 tablespoons (or more) to a small container of water (for tshirts I use a plastic zip lock bag) and then make sure the conditioner has dissolved before adding the clothes.Keep the clothes in the conditioner-water for least 20 minutes (or longer). Take it out and manually pull the shirt or in this case jeans so you physically stretch it where you need it for larger. The clothes will grow like crazy because the conditioner softens the cotton fibers. Then rewash the item being careful not to keep it in the dryer too long so that it shrinks again! 🤣Anyway, back to the review …So I wet the waistband with the conditioner water and let it sit without the stretcher for about 20 minutes so the cotton would benefit from the conditioner. Then I used the footfitter stretcher as instructed and let it dry over night. In the morning the waistband was a full two inches bigger!I took before and after pics and posted them.I heeded the advice of other reviewers before me and did not expand the device until it bent or made a cracking noise. But I did expand it until it was as tight as a guitar string! Also I figured I’d err on the side of caution and stretch it a little less if I thought the device wasbecoming too strained, because I could always stretch it a second time if needed to get the result I was hoping for. That’s wasn’t necessary though because the extra two inches did the job - in fact, maybe a little too good because now a belt is needed to pull them back in a little. I’m not complaining though!I wish this device wasn’t so expensive ($31.xx at the time of this review). But on the other handit worked fantastic and did not damage my jeans at all, so a lot can be said for just paying the money for a great tool once instead of buying something cheap and needing to get new jeans anyway.

Workable but only for stretch denim
This is a good idea. I think quality is OK but the stretch "screw" part should be longer because the diffrent size pieces are hard to fit into a pair of jeans that need stretching in the first place. Also, I am not sure they would work on anything other than stretch denim.

YES,,, this really works and works good!! I spent over 2 hrs looking at these waist stretchers, reading reviews, decided on this one, then on a cheaper one,, then back to this one,,,,,,,it is made in ‘Germany an is very hard plastic and well made,,,, it is designed or made by a shoe stretcher company and remembering my Dad had such a devisee that worked i decided to order,,,,,,,, now,,,,,, do not be in a big hurry, read directions carefully, look at as many videos of it as you can, an take your time,,,,, it is not hard to do, but getting the hang of it is,,,,,,, having someone to help would be and advantage,,,,,, if you are in a bad mood, short on patience, or have distractions around,,,,,, do it another day,,,,,,don’t tear the whole thing apart and get the pieces confused,,,,,,,,,,, i stretched a pair of jeans yesterday and today, they are at least 2 an a half if not 3 inches bigger,, they did have some lyrica in them,,,,, i am stretching another pair now,,,,,i will work my way thru my waist tight jeans one pair at a time,,,,,,,, it will fit to stretch small sizes,,,,, mine were size 00 and i am going easily to a size 2,,,,,,,,,Just watch the videos an take your time,,,,, it really is not hard ,, just different,,, i can use the sme length ing piece for all mine, so no need for me to change that,,,,,,, good luck,,,,, i never write reviews, but had to on this devise,,,,,,,,,

Works on jeans! And easier than the instructions.
I got this for a pair of jeans that fit perfectly everywhere but the waist. I needed at least another inch. This was the only stretcher that had the right measurements for me (I’m petite, though my waist is less so).The first time I used it, I followed the instructions precisely. It worked great. The waist was actually a little too loose! Then I washed and dried my jeans, and the waist band shrank back to the original tightness. I had already dried them, though a small section of the waist band was *very slightly* damp. The rest of it was dry.I decided to try the stretcher on the waist without getting it more damp because I wanted to wear the jeans the next day, and they might not dry.So, I put the stretcher on before I went to bed. In the morning, my jeans fit again! It worked perfectly - no need to get the waist band wet! This makes sense to me since jeans do stretch out as we wear them. The stretcher just does it for us.Very happy to have figured this out. Will make it easier for me to use this product and wear my jeans going forward. I bet it may just need a few hours, even with dry jeans. So, after I wash & dry my jeans, I will use the stretcher for a few hours and then put my jeans away so they are ready for the next time I want to wear them.Wish I’d found this product years ago!

Amazing denim stretcher!
This thing is amazing! I decided on this particular style of stretcher after researching them. The majority of stretchers I found only went as small as 30 inches, while this one starts as small as 22 inches! The other styles also require the pants to be fastened and zipped during the stretching process, which can cause stress and damage the fastened area. This particular style checks all of my boxes.

Doesnt work
I have yet to find material that this item actually stretches. I have tried several different ones. If it wasnt out of the return window I would definitely get my money back

Works as Advertised-so far
I purchased the Waist Band Stretcher to save two pairs of expensive jeans that I unintentionally shrunk in the dryer. They were originally 34" waist size and ended up at 30" waist size after the dryer mistake. The Waist Band eventually returned the jeans to a useable size and saved me a lot of money. The construction is all plastic and I do not expect that it will last a long time but it did a job for me after several tries to stretch my shrunk jeans.I would cautiously recommend this product.

Money saver
Very sceptical about this productBut once I got it, washed a pair of blue jeans and put it on it actually does the jobIt won’t give you 3 inches but it’ll give you a good inch and a halfRead the directions and take a good close Look at the pictures then you’ll have no problem. This one is better than the other ones you see on AmazonOne last piece of advice, use common sense when tighteningI’ve used it on nine pairs of blue jeans, and I have had no problem whatsoever
