I use a bag a lot for work, and it needs to be good quality as I travel a fair bit, so need a bag that is versatile and that will survive. Over the years I’ve had good and bad, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I ordered this Camden Gear one. I have to say that I’m impressed! The build quality is good, it is spacious and comfortable to carry too, it ticks all of the boxes in my opinion. It will likely replace my cabin bag that I use for flying as I can fit all I need in it and I know my stuff will be secure and well protected. It’s worth the money and is certainly ‘up there’ with some of the more expensive luggage brands that are also known for their quality and robustness. The design is smart, making it perfect for work, school or travel. Plenty of pockets/compartments for additional carry options too. Definitely worthy of 5 stars.

The Camden Gear Edwardian Anti Theft Laptop Backpack is a high quality piece of kit. I am impressed with the attention to detail, from the abundance of little & not so little compartments, some zipped, some elasticated & some simply vertical openings. As a work / study bag, it will comfortably accommodate a large laptop & its accessories, pens, folders, books, keys (there's a detachable keyring which clips into place inside the backpack) & cash, all neatly stored in separate sections. There are dedicated spaces for your sunglasses & mobile phone (you can store your phone out of sight with a grommet at the top of the backpack to feed through wired earphones). I actually used the backpack for a weekend away, & it was perfect for my clothes, toiletries & iPad, the usual mass of plugs, cables & chargers & 2 bottles of wine! With so many separate sections, I liked the fact that I could keep my laundry separate. The shoulder straps are easily adjusted & I found them very comfortable when I was wearing the backpack, & the rubber grip at the top makes it a doddle to carry as a conventional bag. This is the best backpack I have owned & I'm confident that it will give me years of good service.

Product just arrived and on time. It looks to be a really well designed piece of kit although slightly smaller than I expected. Nonetheless it seems to be of excellent quality, lightweight, well padded, lots of storage compartments, good zips, strong carry handle, and rigid front and rear panels which will provide excellent protection to the contents. My 15.6 laptop can fit in both main pockets (it could take 2) but I suspect it might be a bit too tight for a 17". Absolutely great value for money. I just hope it performs as good as it looks. (And no, I have no connections with Camden or the vendor and I paid the full price on Amazon for this product). UPDATE JULY 2019. Now had this pack for a few months during which it has been used daily and survived several long-haul flights and rail trips. I can testify that the product is well-made with no signs of wear, stitching failure, or the straps becoming detached. I tend to carry quite heavy loads of around 10kg and it copes perfectly. The zips are good - strong and smooth running. In fact they run so smooth that the bag's lap-top compartment can can open abruptly (a problem I have solved by using mini snap-links to hold the zip pullers together.). One of the capacious side pockets is big enough to take laptop power supply and cable. However, the bag could still be improved: the document dividers need to be full height to prevent document sliding underneath and the small internal pockets in the front compartment need to have a velcro or other form of closure. Nonetheless, an extremely good backpack that is standing up well to the rigours of daily life. I have no reservations about recommending it. UPDATE MARCH 2023: STILL GOING STRONG! Been round the world and much much more, often overloaded and abused, but this pack has never missed a beat. Stitching and zips all good. A five-star product.

I am quite fussy when it comes to buying things, as i like good quality for a reasonable price. Well, all i can say is that this back pack covers those. The carrying handle on top is super strong and doesn't look like it will break (unlike some others). There is plenty of room inside and many compartments. It holds up to a 17in laptop and has room for the charger, heavy books, stationery and other paperwork. It is very sturdy and the straps to put around your shoulders are strong and comfortable. All in all an excellent backpack and worth more than is being charged. It is also great for picnics, hiking, sports, etc.

Great backpack. It has three compartments. The smallest at the front with slots to store your phone and pens. The middle is the most spacious with 2 slots that I think are there for potentially tablets and then the section at the back that fits the laptop and I regularly put in my A4 notepad and research notes with lots of space. I put in this bag, all of my gym equipment and shower necessities on top of my laptop and research and all of my valuables in the front slot. And it's sturdy to boot, the straps are well designed and can take the heavy weight. Only doubt may be on the water-resistant outer. So far mines been fine in rain, but I think in really heavy rain it might succumb.

Let me start by saying that I have purchased two Camden Gear Backpacks (one for me and one for my wife), and am considering purchasing a third in a little while. Hopefully that gives you an idea what I think of them! Best rucksack for the price, bar none....if anything the price is too low, and may make people suspicious as regards material and construction, which in my opinion is of the highest quality. It really is a very versatile rucksack (with so many storage areas), which I mainly use for transporting my laptop (and lunch) to and from work. I will also put it through its paces on holiday later in the year. The two small side compartments would benefit from double zips. The purpose of the two side compartments is to accommodate liquid containers....coke cans, water bottles etc. They work great for standard short wide containers due to retention loop, but the single zip does not cater for taller bottles with a thin neck (case in point, San Pellegrino 500ml), which could easily slip out. A double zip would be an easy fix for this, as the two zips could meet either side of the neck of the bottle...job done!

Excellent bag, strong robust and plenty of spacious storage (sections). Sturdy zips all round pc and chargers etc in one section, files papers stored adequately in another and front compartment has easy access and plenty storage for diary pens diary note pad etc. Padded straps and comfy fit and would recommend.

I bought this on a whim, my old bag was ok but I fancied a change. So first of all it comes very well packed and arrived in a few days. First impressions were good, it was solid without feeling tool heavy, the zips are very good and the pocket sizes reasonable. The first thing to disappoint me was my laptop didn't fit in, saying that it my laptop is an old brick and maybe if it was a modern one it would have fitted. Overall this is a very good quality bag with more room than you'll probably ever need. Update: Nearly a year on and still very happy with this bag. It’s showing a few areas of wear but I’m harsh with bags and they generally last 6 months.
