Best dryer I ever used for my curls!
I have NEVER written a review for anything (okay, one book) so this should tell you a lot! I have fine, thinning hair. I got the Bellissima Supreme model because I liked the operating choices - low and high speed, 3 heat levels and Ultra gentle, which is a cool setting. And it looked like a better idea of what a dryer and diffuser should be. It is so easy to hold and maneuver . My hair drys more quickly. But the important part is the curls. It's amazing how much curl and fullness I get with this. I had a little learning curve as I figured out the best way to use it on my hair. Found some help from Erica at Coils&Curls.com. Now that I know what I'm doing, it's easy and my hair looks great. I usually have decent curl in the summer (yes, with frizz most times) but in the winter (which is what we are in now), I fight to get much curl at all. So now I have curls and very little to no frizz and it looks healthy and shiny. Eagerly awaiting the summer to see how it looks then! P.S. - I had just purchased a very expensive dryer prior to learning about Bellissima. Its blower is so strong that my hair just blew around and whatever curl happened got blown away. Useless. Pricey lesson (can't return it). But now I have the best dryer for my curly hair! I'm very happy I decided to give it a try. Having beautiful, healthy looking curls is wonderful!

Really impressed with
I dithered about buying this hair dryer for like a year because I figured it couldn’t possibly be THAT much better than my (nice! expensive!) regular hair dryer with a diffuser attachment. But I was totally wrong!! When I started using it, people I see regularly noticed immediately—my coworkers and friends were like “your hair looks great, did you do something different?” This dryer throws a lot of heat without blowing much air, which seems to be the secret to how it manages to maximize my curls and volume with limited frizz. With my old dryer, I would only dry my hair about halfway to avoid blowing too much frizz into it as it got dry. With this one, I can get it almost all the way dry no problem. It also helps the sections of my hair that are especially stubborn about curling nicely (mostly my gray streaks) to act more like the rest of my hair and curl more uniformly. Somehow, my dry hair also feels softer, even with the same products and routine as before? I don’t know how to explain that, but it has happened consistently. On top of that, the dryer is super lightweight and easy to handle, and it’s small so it takes up less space in my bathroom storage. My conventional dryer was already one that was well-known and highly recommended for being light and compact, but this one beats it easily on both. I’ve already convinced a few curly-haired friends to order one.

A Bargain at the Price? No. But worth it? Absolutely!
My hair has been down to my waist for years. A couple months ago, after a new stylist cut my hair shorter than I'd wanted, I realized I had developed a wave pattern that the weight of my hair had been masking. Since then, I've been learning how to work with the new waves -- my hair is fine, so it doesn't take much for those delicate waves to stretch out -- and I'd started diffusing with a hair dryer already in the house that had come with a diffuser attachment. It was too hot for my hair even on the lowest heat setting and required me to diffuse upside down, which was problematic due to a health condition and which took a very long time. The results were mediocre at best, and when I had to go to work and couldn't let my hair air dry over a couple hours, it just didn't look good. So, for my birthday this year, I decided I'd buy myself the gift of a better hairdryer with a new diffuser. As I was searching for a different diffuser some YouTube wavy hair content creators had recommended, I saw this dedicated diffuser among the listings and was immediately struck by the design. With my short arms, I'd had to hold my previous hairdryer by the barrel to get it into the right position at times, and it struck me that a) this design would address that issue and b) with the bowl-style diffuser (the one I'd had had a flat top), drying would likely be faster and involve fewer contortions. I was also pleased with the lower heat output. There weren't a ton of reviews either here or on YouTube for the original Diffon model and were even fewer for this Diffon Supreme XL ionic model. So I felt like I was taking a bit of a chance at the price point, but Amazon's return policy was solid and I really only need a diffuser rather than a standard hairdryer, so I decided to go for it -- and to choose this model over the original. And so far, I'm thrilled with my decision! Why? Here's why I chose this one over the original Diffon model and what I love so much about this version. Let's start with the settings -- unlike the previous version (the DF1 5000), the settings for this model are on the bottom of the unit, not on the side, making it far less likely to accidentally hit a setting while diffusing. And there are more of them -- this model includes a cool button (the other version doesn't) that can be pressed once and doesn't need to be held down like it does on many hair dryers. The fan strength setting has a slider and the power button sticks out much more than the heat/cool buttons, so it's easy for me to ascertain by feel alone what I'm doing when I want to make a setting change while diffusing -- I find I don't need to look at the settings to use them. Since this model suggests it's for long/thick hair and mine is mid-length and fine, I didn't know if the XL diffuser bowl would be over-sized for my needs, but I find I can put much more of my hair in the bowl at once -- this allows my wave clumps to hold together better while pixie diffusing and has also cut my drying time by 2/3. My hair dries quickly but never feels "overdried" after I diffuse with the Diffon Supreme XL, and between the Argan Oil Ceramic and the Ionic Technology (the original model had the former but not the latter), I don't end up with a bunch of frizz or flyaways (my hair is particularly prone to the latter). The lower temperature also helps me avoid wave collapse when my hair cools -- something that tended to happen with my fine hair when using a regular hair dryer -- even to diffuse on its lowest heat setting. Because of the shape of this diffuser -- which makes so much practical sense, design-wise -- I'm also not contorting myself into difficult positions to diffuse and can easily move the diffuser into the position I want, even with my short, stubby arms. And the results? See above -- I went from having "half-hearted" texture to having healthy looking waves with comparatively little effort. This diffuser has finally given me something I thought I'd never have -- an easy hair routine with "happy-making" results! Happy Birthday to Me!!

Can your hair be too curly?
Pics: 1. Right after using this blowdryer 2. How my hair usually looks I have never in my many decades of life seen anything like this on my head, so many curls from top to bottom, I swear I didn't quite know what to do with them in terms of styling (I have long mildly layered hair). However, this is a challenge I look forward to dealing with. I have used a dyson with diffuser, and a few other popular choices, but this one takes the cake. Some say it takes longer than the dyson, I disagree. It takes about the same amount of time if you have it at high heat and fan with occasional cool button. It is definitely only good for curly hair, but I find it dries very well. The cool button is not cold, just cool, which I thought was weird because I'm used to "cold shots" but maybe they are overrated? I did a lot of research and am convinced that the high heat setting and fan is still quite gentle on my hair because of how the blowdryer is constructed. Nothing blows harshly on my hair, my hair just sits in the large bowl and is gently heat dried. I could be wrong about that, but that is my opinion at the moment. It is definitely louder than the infamously quiet dyson, but it isn't louder than any regular blowdryer. It is so ergonomically friendly that I can comfortably do part of my yoga routine while drying my hair. It's much harder to do yoga with a regular blowdryer because it is just more in the way. Sorry for the serious yogis out there, I know I am not doing it correctly, but I am a realist. I either multitask or I do neither! I was kind of looking forward to not liking this blowdryer because my dyson was totally fine and I really could use the refund money right before the holidays, but oh well.....happy holidays to me. :-)

I'd Buy It Again!
Absolutely hands down the best curly hair hair dryer! It may be a bit pricier than most but it adds volume and control without harming the hair with too much heat. I was uncertain at first because I have 70 yr old wavy white woman hair - I thought it might be overkill because I don't have the same volume as some people but it's been just great. Lightweight and love the design. It's easy to handle.

Nice diffuser style dryer
I like the size and most everything about this diffuser, but a bit disappointed that it doesn't dry my hair as fast as expected. It actually dried my hair less efficiently than my cheap Conair drier, but my hair curls better which is most important. Just expected a better drying experience based on the price point.

Easy to use, lightweight with great results
I’m really surprised by how well this diffuser dries my hair with minimal frizz. It’s so easy to use and since my hair is short and thin it dries quickly but leaves it looking fuller and healthier. This is obviously my own experience using my combination of hair products but my DIL did give me a nice compliment on how well my hair looked!

Just OK results. . .
This dryer is. . .OK. I have very thick curly/wavy/sometimes frizzy hair and was hoping for a miracle with this dryer-better curls, same or less drying time, ease of use, etc. I have used it 3 times now and I really want to give this dryer a chance. I honestly can't see a difference between my small 1850 dryer with a sock diffuser that I've been using forever and this dryer. It is easy to hold, it doesn't grab or pull your hair, the heat is good and my hair did dry in about the same time as with my go to dryer/diffuser which is about 5 minutes. I do let me hair air dry for a bit, as I said thick and all the curls. In the commercials the women have had shorter, thinner or curly when wet hair so maybe mine is just the oddity because I coax my hair to curl; full air dry my hair is wavy with some ringlets, the roots just wavy/frizzy and I definitely need product. I am contemplating returning it as I wouldn't normally spend this much on a hair dryer. To not see a remarkable difference, it wouldn't be worth the $. I do need a trim/reshape of my hair so I'll try it a few more times after that but wanted to give my experience with it. Maybe my hair just too thick/heavy for this dryer. I WIll update soon, there is a time frame to return it I'm sure. Thanks for listening! Update: I returned the dryer, is great quality and heat as all good but my hair not a good candidate for this one.

Perfect Diffuser
Love this diffuser, helps with my curls and dries quickly. I have a bad shoulder, and this was a game changer light weight, and I am able to reach the back of my head without straining my arm/shoulder
