Great, flat bottom, sharp knife
VERY sharp. Iโve kept the sheath that came with this Japanese knife. You will need it for storage if you keep it in a drawer. Great design. Comfortable handle, just the right length to cut, slice, dice vegetables. Iโve used it a lot and it stays sharp. I purposely bought this knife not only because the nice shorter length than other knives, but I like working with a blade that is designed with a flat, even cutting surface. It eliminates some up and down movement on my dominant arm, which is easily inflamed due to lymph edema. On time shipping and packaged well with no damage!

Pleasantly Surprised
I tend to review only products that are an outstanding value and quality. That said, this knife impressed me. Sharp! duh and good "feel" at a decent price. Dont worry about where its made. It will serve you well and makes a nice addition. Unlike description blade cover is fuzz lined folded thermoplastic not leather nor sheath style, ok with me.

Was not impressed . It rusted. I wanted to love it, but it looked cheap. So no.

Was a gift. It was well received and he uses it regularly. We donโt put in dishwasher and sharpen it as needed.

I purchased this for cutting small products. it is beautifully crafted. People always compliment my knife

Did not meet expectations
The knife is short and too light. Steel is very susceptible to moisture. Rust appeared. After each use, you should immediately wipe with a dry cloth or napkins.

Spectacular knife!
So glad I bought this, it does the job and is clearly very well made. I use a steel before using each time to keep the santoku in tiptop shape and sharp as a top chef taught me. Love that it comes with its' own sheath and the damask is just gorgeous. After all these years of fine cooking it's a great tool to make my culinary work shine. Great gift for a chef in your life if you have one!

Cheap yet sharp and durable.
Been using it for a few months and I've got no real complaint so far. It can be hit against garlic without worry (the handle won't fly off-). it's sharp, it's beautiful, and if you dont forget to wash and dry it after use you won't get rust (as of yet). Only complaint is the occasional wrist pain with prolonged use because it is a small knife.
