Excellent product.
Excellent value and quality product. 500 ml in for slightly more than the Barbour 200 ml version. I opened the lid fully then rested it back on the tin before placing it in a bowl of boiling water. I do this to avoid pressure building in the tin from the warm wax, but put lid resting on tin to keep the heat in. I filled the bowl to about 2 inches below top of tin. Wax melted nicely after about five minutes. I placed my 25 year old Northumbria jacket on an Ironing board with brown paper under the jacket otherwise the Mrs would go ballistic ! After wiping any dirt off the jacket I started rubbing the wax into the jacket paying extra attention to the seams on the shoulders . Waxing the back of the jacket was easier to wax than the front due to the pockets needing a thorough going over . The wax itself looks identical to the Barbour version and is easy to apply. The results are amazing and have made my old jacket like new . I had to change the water in the bowl once while I applied the wax as I took some time to cover the jacket . I did put too much wax on the front of the jacket as I was getting over confident. However a few walks out in spring sun and a little rain soon solved that problem. Although there is no comparison to the Barbour wax jacket , and I absolutely love my Northumbria , the Walker and Hawkes wax seems just as good as the Barbour version and looks and feels the same .

wax on, rain drops off.
decided to wax my old Craghoppers jacket that had lost its water repelling coating ( it was not a waxed jacket ) W & H wax for cotton got good reviews. I placed the tin in hot water Pyrex bowl & the wax melted for easy application - took me about 8 hours over 2 days to do the whole jacket - the rain just drops off now. Works very well & have more than enough to cover the large jacket again in the future, very durable as it's given a new lease of life to a quality jacket.

Easy to apply and works well.
Ordered the 500mL size. Was able to wax my jacket with two coats (pun intended) and still had approximately half the tin remaining. I think it worked out very well! Living in the UK in a cold house meant I wasn’t able to do exactly as recommended by Barbour but below is what I did. I put the tin into a pot of boiling water and let the wax fully melt. Be sure the level of the water is below the level of wax this way it won’t tip over. This can take 10-20 mins to fully melt in a boiling pot. I used a sponge to apply the wax. I submersed the sponge into the wax and let it drain the excess then I was able to apply the wax very easily and liberally across the coat, using long strokes and ensuring full coverage. I would avoid dipping the sponge then applying immediately as this causes big wet patches that soaks through quickly and is harder to spread. I then used a hairdryer to melt the wax on the surface to allow the wax to soak into the cotton threads of the coat, you will see the glazey wax go shiny as it melts into the fabric. I also used bunched up paper towels/kitchen roll and brushed across the surface to spread the wax as it melts in - this is really helpful to get rid of saturated patches. Hope this helps anyone trying it out. It’s really worth it and can give an old coat a new life.

Absolutely Brilliant!
I was very sceptical about re-waxing my husband‘s Barbour jacket, even when we started to melt the wax, I said I thought he would be better having it done professionally. How wrong I was! At first it seemed a bit of laborious job rubbing the melted wax into the fabric. It was doing the job, but going to take absolutely ages. After a short time, while he rubbed the melted wax into the fabric, I was ready with the hairdryer to keep the wax warm and melted to make it so much easier to work with. Others have mentioned about it taking eight hours, if you do it this way after an hour and a half, his jacket was perfectly waxed. It was a sunny winter day, so we hung it in the conservatory to allow it to dry. Once it was hanging, we checked it and any slight patches we just went over with the waxy cloth. He has since also re-waxed his waterproof waxed Stetson hat. Both items look absolutely brand-new. We would definitely recommend this product. . We bought the 500 ml size and have used approximately half of it. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again.

Very small tin of wax dressing
The product is excellent if you follow the instructions as I did. (Warm water, hairdryer and air in warm conditions) However, the advert is deceptive. The tin is a lot smaller than shown. It is the size of a small tin of shoe polish. Not enough for a coat! They also could have included a sponge applicator as most businesses do.

Economical restoration treatment
Very impressed with this treatment and I recommend it to anyone with waxed garments. Very easy to apply with a soft cloth after warming the tin. Planning the application makes it easier to ensure good and even coverage, with a second coat onto the shoulder surfaces. The odour given off is mild and less intrusive than some I've used in the past. I've restored two long length jackets and used around 20% of the tin, so I'd say it's economical, too.

Funciona perfectamente
Las instrucciones son fáciles. SÃguelas y conseguirás una prenda de algodón perfectamente encerada. Ten cuidado de no excederte en la aplicación si la prenda es grande, porque, en ese caso, 200 ml puede que no te alcancen. Producto Recomendable

Good although much may be needed
Easy to apply despite some doomsday scenarios in the reviews. Might be tempted to repeat the exercise on my Barbour coat quite soon though as the demands of Irish winters and other , three seasons are ... very demanding.

Excellent
