Great for ANY application where carrying large or heavy loads is called for; just needs a small manual for its many adjustments.
I bought this backpack not for field-photography, but as a replacement for my previous College backpack pack I'd used for over four years prior. Look to the bottom for a summary; here's what I was hoping for, and how the pack measured up: 1: I wanted the modularity and volume of the pack to accommodate a wide array of School Supplies and an assortment of tech neatly and securely; to say I'm pleased on this front is an understatement. I removed the majority of the dividers to leave the pack divided in two, space for the satchel in the bottom to hold smaller books, notepads and my calculator, and an open cavity on top to hold binders, larger books, and some accessories like a Bluetooth Speaker and Headphones. I've even snugly lied my bike's U-lock in front of the satchel for easy access while biking! The mesh inner pocket of the top section was perfect for my Kindle Paperwhite, my pens, pencils and laptop charging cables fit excellently in the front organization pocket, the hard-shell area contains external battery chargers, cables and Business Card holders. The side mesh pockets accommodate everything from larger cell phones to tripods and umbrellas thanks to the adjustable strap, and the vertical zippered slot nearest to the back fits my Macbook Pro with ease. The Rain Cover is easy to fit over the backpack even when it's stuffed full, yet it holds securely, and fits perfectly into the smallest front pocket. The other small pockets on the hip-hugging strap are great for holding change, small cables, or minimalist wallets with a bit of effort. Zippers glide easily and are ergonomic to operate thanks to the green silicon loops which have great visibility and add to the backpack's clean, modern aesthetic. 2: I was hoping for the many areas of adjustment to distribute the weight of the stuffed Backpack evenly across my body; my previous pack was well-made, but did not offer adjustment beyond the standard pull-straps you'll see on every pack. This backpack ABSOLUTELY offers adequate adjustment options, and they all make a measurable impact on how weight is distributed, but my only gripe, as someone unfamiliar with such a robust set of adjustment points, is the lack of included literature that may inform me of sensations to look out for while adjusting certain areas (ie, where would weight likely shift if one tightens or lowers the sternum strap?, How should pressure be distributed in ideal circumstances, to minimize acute strain on specific areas of the back? etc.) Now, this in no way impacts the quality of the backpack itself, and to that end, I am still more than happy to award a five-star rating to this item, but after working with the pack for around a week, I'm still making adjustments throughout the day that don't leave me confident that I'm heading towards that ideal distribution of pressure. That being said, the level of upper back strain I was experiencing with my previous pack is already substantially lower with this pack with how I've adjusted it; I'm hoping to find that Goldilocks zone in due time as I continue to enjoy this backpack's immense utility. The only other thing I'd point out in terms of adjustment is that despite being 6'2" and slim, I found myself shortening the effective "back length" of my pack to a half-rung BELOW the Small sizing, to find the area where the pack best fit along my lower back's curvature. I've got no doubt this may be due to my torso being rather short in comparison to my legs, proportion-wise, but again, due to the lack of literature, I'm not even entirely sure I've adjusted that to properly accommodate my stature. As a final side-note/PSA, if you're frequently carrying a heavy load, you should be wearing a pack with more than just shoulder straps, period. Even if this pack doesn't end up being your choice, save yourself some long-term back issues and get a pack with straps that tighten to your torso, at the very least. Summary: Build quality: Solid throughout. Materials sturdy and reliable Adjustability: Robust, although no documentation is provided to help fine-tune the adjustments. Space: There's enough; you're going to have ample space, period. Don't let this be a point of debate. Customizability: There's enough; you'll be able to protect any set of components you put in here, period. Don't let this be a point of debate. Erganomics: Adjusted properly, the pack can distribute pressure along the body to minimize acute strain. Price: Absolutely worth it. Thoroughly recommended.

This Pack is Awesome!
If you're looking for a versatile, large pack to lug a lot of your gear into the woods or through an airport, this may be the pack for you. This pack is quality throughout, and there are more pockets and useable space than most of us will ever need. I own 5 DSLRs, and I'm able to fit 2 into the pack along with 3 lenses for each, lots of spare batteries, lens cleaners, filters and just about any other useful item I need. One of the greatest features is the very useful day-pack, which can come out of the pack and fastened to your waist. The added bonus to that is that you can use the space inside the pack (that you free up by removing the day-pack) for storing a snack and maybe a water bottle. The only con that I can think of for this pack, if you want to consider it a con, is that there is so much space that you can over-pack with too much photo gear and really bog yourself down. For that reason, you really can't go any larger in a photo backpack without making it too heavy to put on your back. One downside to most of these photo backpacks is that they're not on par with regular backpacks in terms of comfort, and this one is no exception. The shoulder and waist straps are thinner in comparison to those on a quality, regular backpack. And if you load the pack with lots of heavy photo gear, it tends to sag and the straps will dig deeply into your shoulders. But if you don't load it down, its fine for most photo backpacking duties. So, why did I give it 5 stars? Well, quite simply put, this pack is very low in price in comparison to most professional photo backpacks, which can easily cost several hundred dollars. You really can't get much more bang for the buck with this pack. For what you're paying, this pack is excellent. If you're looking for a backpack to store a single camera and a couple of lenses for a long hike in the woods or an overnight stay, you may be better off with a traditional backpack and a 'photo insert.' That way, you can take a sleeping bag, small tent, food and a basic photo setup. For an overnight trek like that, I use a Kelty Coyote 80 with a photo insert. The utility of owning both backpacks is that I can tailor; selecting the right pack for the situation. In summary, this is a great pack, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This pack is capable of remaining balanced on the end to allow easy access to your camera from above without laying it ...
I ordered two camera backpacks, this one and the large bag by Ececase. They looked similar and to some extent they were. I wasn't sure they weren't the same under different packaging. They aren't the same. The Evecase is smaller. Both have a separate take out case. The Evecase is just that. This backpack has a pull out waistpack and can be used around your waist which is handy if you need more room. I don't think think this backpack is going to fit under an airline seat. In the end I choose this backpack because of several reasons. I needed the additional room and wanted the option to include a change of clothes for when we are flying. This pack is capable of remaining balanced on the end to allow easy access to your camera from above without laying it down. I have rectangular filters in a substantial case which fits better on end. I am also able to fit my Canon 70-200m end on end, plus 3 more lenses, flash unit and controller, plus other camera related items in the upper opening. I put my lenses case in the lower opening. There are a bunch of other storage places, room for a drink on one end and tripod on the other. The zippers were easier to work on this backpack. There was also more room a coMputer in this pack. I have a 13" regular computer and a 10" pad which both fit in the computer opening. Although they fit in the other bag I couldn't close the zipper. The back supporting straps are more comfortable on this bag. The other bag cut into my chest. I think it may be a defective. This bag comes with a huge number of velcro dividers both above and below, many more than I needed. In the event you have to check the bag under the plane on smaller planes, the top is better padded with a rubberized top. This a big bag and fully loaded it can be heavy. I hope I can handle all the weight. Our first trip out will be this weekend.. The other bag is a nice bag. It is a bit smaller and you may be able to fit it under a seat. I do have suggestions for an even better backpack. 1. Make the carrying handle more substantial. 2. There are two sleeves in the upper storage area, one of which is open. I plan on sewing some velcro to close off the second open storage sleeve. 3. the straps that hold the tripod need to have quick release belts, not the existing double hole belt which are slower to operate. Again I am going to replace them with the quick release variety.

Great Bag great over all
I wanted a bigger pack to put my camera and lens and this one is quite large. The easy access on top is nice when the pack is upright, however, since there is more height in the bottom half of the bag the bigger lens are there, so I lay it down most of the time. The outside material is very good and even though the bag comes with a rain cover, I think it can resist some light rain for a short time. The zippers are smooth, and the zipper handles are easy to get to. I have had the bag for a few weeks in heavy use so far. I don’t see much use for the hard-plastic case and it would be nice if it was removable. It’s not big enough for an iPad so not sure what else you could use it for. In my case I am storing batteries in there. The grab handle in the middle is strong. Some review claim this can break in time, I would not suggest carrying it that way for a long time and a heavy load as I can see that wearing out in time. There is a large area next to the straps in back where a laptop can fit. Not sure why anyone would carry a laptop there. Maybe they were thinking one bag carries everything and that is not a good way to look at it. It is a nice place for an iPad because it is large enough. The extra spaces outside of the bag are nice for other items you need in photography. The inner bag on the top half is a little annoying because you need to unzip it to get to the lens. That said it does act as safety catch in case you forget to zip the main outside close. The top is designed well, and it is pretty easy to get the camera in and out. I have 5 slots for lens and the camera can fit in with a standard size lens attached. The bottom has a inner bag but I don’t really see any use for it being inside the pack. The bottom can take longer lens upright which is was one thing that was a must. I have my Canon 100-400 and 180 macro in their own slots with more room for others. The area that is used to attach the dividers to the sides of the pack are not wide enough. They weaken and can slip out of place with a heavy lens, others have noted this as well. Then need to be attached very well, I may look for a way to place them more solid. Overall it is a great pack and it really carries easy on the back. I easily have about 20 pounds in there and the main strap handles are strong enough to easily lift it. It is large and I think it will fit in a overhang on a plane but not under the seat. It is worth getting this if you need to travel a lot and hike to your areas to photograph. There is a strap to carry a tripod and place for a water bottle and snacks. Update: The seam is tearing on the seam near the left shoulder strap. I suspect this was a defect so I just returned it. I was going to order a replacement but other have the same problem with tearing. I don't think it can handle a lot of weight for a long time. Also I did find a good use for the hard plastic, makes a good place to store a small flash diffuser.

Extreme backpack
I originally ordered this pack for a photographer friend but when I opened it I decided to keep it for myself! It has every secure compartment one would ever need and could be used for a wide variety of purposes. The pull-tabs are very sturdy and will stand up to intense and frequent use. It has a top compartment with a hard cover shell for breakable items that zips shut with elastic string and clasp. Each zipper is also covered and protects the zipper and adds more protection for items in the pack. Two pockets in the front, one has tons of different compartments for various items. The front has an opening in bottom of the pack that you can be access items in the bottom of the pack. The sides of the pack have straps to hold items as well as pockets that can be synched shut. One side has plastic name cardholder. The back has padded, select a size straps that can be strapped securely on. Inside are more Velcro shelves! There is a very padded packet that any size laptop would fit securely in and be very protected, and more zipper compartments. The Velcro “shelf” can be removed if you want one large compartment in the backpack. The straps even have zipper pockets for cell phones etc. There is also a fold out pocket from the bottom that a tripod could be placed and strapped to the pack for safekeeping. The bottom of the pack has 2 sturdy rubber feet to keep the pack up off the surface and stand upright. The waist pack has padded adjustable straps as well as a handle. Inside are more removable Velcro separators as well as an adjustable shoulder strap. Even comes with a very durable elastic edged rain cover. Every time I look at it I am surprised by another pocket or compartment! I would defiantly recommend this backpack!

Going strong.
After more than a year of use, this bag isn't showing any obvious signs of failure. I got this bag primarily for it's size, since I guess I have a problem with gear acquisition. Currently it carries one DSLR body with battery grip, and another crop-sensor DSLR, an 11-20mm f/2.8 lens, 17-50mm f/2.8 lens, 70-200 f/2.8 lens, 150-600mm lens, 35mm Macro and 90mm Macro lens, 1 pancake prime lens, and a 50mm prime lens, plus filters, 12 batteries, a charger, compact tripod, remote shutter, rain poncho, and various other minutiae I'm sure I've forgotten, all internally, sometimes with a little effort. Despite pretty much over stuffing it, the back of the bag stays flat and comfortable against my back. The shoulder and waist straps are wide, soft, and comfortable, despite the heavy weight. The side pouches and straps work well for carrying larger items like full size tripods, monopods, and even my travel stool (though I do wish I could release the side straps with a buckle, to more easily retrieve items without taking the bag off my back). Dividers inside the bag are good quality and protect my gear well, and I haven't had any issues with moisture making it inside the bag either when it rains, though I usually cover myself and the bag with my poncho once that starts. I haven't had any problems with stitching thus far, and that's despite attaching a Peak Design QR plate to the left shoulder strap and regularly hanging more than 7lbs of camera+lens off it. My biggest complaints are about the design; I'm not sure I find much benefit in the upper and lower sections being separate, and wish the interior was instead one contiguous compartment to allow better versatility, and I wish the back opened for access to equipment. These were things I knew purchasing the bag though, it's kind of hard to find a camera bag that ticks all the checkboxes on my wishlist, and they're not big enough complaints that I feel the need to replace the bag either. Unless I find the magic camera bag that does every single thing I want, I expect to still be using this bag in five years, based on it's service thus far. Overall I'm very happy with it, and with my ability to fit everything I want to bring with (which is almost certainly far more than I need to bring) relatively comfortably.

Wonderful backpack!
This pack is truly awesome. It feels well built and has way more room then I expected. I have two camera bodies, 7 lenses, and still have room for a camera flash which makes me happy because I really missed having it. And there's still room inside. Plus, there's a smaller bag with it. I may use it for small trips. It can hold 1 camera body and 3 lenses, or two camera bodies and 2 lenses or a flash two lenses and a body etc... The pack is adjustable and has both a chest and waist wraps that way feels better when going on hikes. You can put your tripod on either side and it has a spot that's actually meant for a tripod in the strep easily hold it I don't have mine in the photos but. And it also includes a little whistle that's on one of the buckles. Is camera backpack is definitely worth it I'm so happy with my purchase this far I will update it as time goes on though. Bought in June of 2018, it's now July of 2021 and moving strong. Pack has been abused a little but still very happy with my purchase. This is the pack you want to buy.

Durable, and Thoughtfully Designed
For the price point, I'm not sure you could purchase a better camera bag. I have owned a few in my career, and most do a great job of body/lens/gear protection, but leave something to be desired when it comes to comfort/fit on your back. Plush, padded straps, adjustable torso height, carefully placed back padding, and multi-position adjustment straps allow a form fit when hiking, or just getting your family through the airport. At first, I was turned off by the brightly colored accents, but soon realized their purpose when I was doing low light photography and need quick access to one of the pockets. Maybe the best surprise was the camera straps that secure to the shoulder straps. Completely off my radar, and it allows me to shoot two different fixed lenses with ease. Lastly, the day bag/fanny pack is dynamite when it comes to jumping out for a specific shot or an evening with friends. I definitely didn't feel like the "the guy carrying a camera bag" with it over my shoulder. Perfect for a body and two lenses. As a photographer that mostly sticks to fixed lens shooting, I am able to carry my arsenal of lenses, two bodies, my Mavic air fly more case and drone, all while keeping a camera (one of the two bodies) with lens on stowed comfortably and ready to go if need be. For parents, the flexibility of making an upper and lower cavity (with front, separate access to both) makes for a great diaper bag, without having to leave your camera at home. buy it.

Perfect for weekend trips!
Well built, well thought out, customizable. Lots of room for camera (s) and all your gear, sturdy and tough with accessibility taken in to consideration. The addition of the child bag allows many functions depending on your need, forego it all together and you can use the base compartment for clothing, toiletries, ect. While still having enough room for a full camera and accessories up top and room to spare. Use the child bag as a travel bag for your main camera and a lens when you've dropped your gear and clothing where you're staying and wanna go for a walk without the weight. The main compartment, while divided, can be adjusted or eliminated all together, making it very versatile for people with things like drones and other toys as well. Love the EVA hard shell on the top, not only does it save the access port for the main camera, it keeps your phone and or charger and cables organized in one place, and it doubles as a tray when fully open, resting on the collar of the main compartment. More features than you can think of, can't wait to hop on the ferry for a trip to the island rocking this bad boy. Before I had multiple bags and looked like I was fleeing something with little forethought. Thanks for making a solid product!

Love this bag!
This is such a great bag! it's well built and perfect is perfect for carrying my mavic 2 pro and smart controller with an extra battery in the lower compartment in the seperate bag. I just the bag out and I have all the basic drone gear for a few flights. I'm the main compartment I store my Sony full frame camera, extra lenses, audio equipment, my mini 2 drone and spare batteries for the mavic 2. Front pockets hold all the extras. Tripod on the side. Overall this bag fits all my gear perfectly, the built quality seems very good and it is very comfortable to wear. Even has a rain fly that eased my mind when I got caught on the rain recently. I've been using it for a few years now and can't find any faults with it.
