Top Cat: The Movie [DVD]

I loved this film, watched it multiple times. Underrated classic

The 3D version is magically entertaining. The characters are presented as 2D pieces placed in various positions onto a marvelously rich 3D background. Although I'd think this might be gimmicky and distractive, it works. Thus one has the classic feel of the Top Cat cartoons upgraded into a wonderfully constructed 3D environment: with good reach out of the screen, excellent depth, and fine resolution. I had to stop several times and watch it in several helpings as it was so delicious. The story is unexpectedly sophisticated while still appealing to little kids. Viewed on a large wall screen in 3D with full surround sound it's an immersive experience. This takes an honored place in one of the "best of the best" of my extensive 3D blu ray collection. To all those involved in making this product I say: "Bravo!"

Top cat is a american cartoon character from the 1950's. And here we get a animated feature of him. IN 3d no less. Is it high art? no, is it terrible? no, is it fun? SURE. It's a good little film and I was glad to add it to my 3d collection.

Bought for my son, who is autistic and loves watching disney and disney-type films. Can't comment on what the film is like as, part of his autism, he will not allow anyone in the room with him to watch. The few times he has relented we are subject to a running commentary of his version of what the film is about, with names of people he knows substituted for the characters in the film.It makes it very hard to watch anything any know what the heck is actually going on! Like a really badly dubbed film!!All I can say is the film works, the quality looks good, from what I can and my son really enjoys it.

Content: It's good fun and cinema quality, rather than made for TV talking heads with all the Top Cat gang, Dibble and a bad guy to cause trouble.Disc: I had 3 different DVDs, two second hand described as 'good condition' which didn't play because the chapters jumped back. I bought a new version and this did the same on a portable DVD player but played through on a computer DVD player.3 stars due to the faults.

My young daughter loves it. Excellent DVD and even better service.

Love Top cat the movie, well worth a watch and have been a fan for many years.

Good 3-D ,more like a pop up book style 3-D.NO rounded noses but flat LIKE a drawing but 3-D background has debth.It's GOOD to hear the updated theme song in 5.1 surround!

I was pleasantly surprised by my sons interest in this movie. It's usually his choice to watch before dozens of others he has. He tells everyone how great this movie is to him and even takes it along when we go places. It's not only one character but all of them he likes.

For starter, my 9 year son saw a preview of this movie and he told me about it. So I decided to purchase it, since couldn't find it at the store.

This is not blu ray but HD-DVD,and this movie is available in separate hindi and English dvd version. Although this is not complete 3d. it is older style 3d ,where background not move but foreground move.However if you are looking for Best 3D 'pop out' effect this movie is not in that category.!You can See this movie with your little ones at your 3D TV as this movies use slow motion For Scene hence it is gud entertainer.Best to buy it when this DVD is heavily discounted. Not a bad deal for your 3D collection .

First off the -the movie is terrible. The writers /producers have tried to rip off parts of a story from one of the earlier original series, and the picturisation of some of the characters are downright pathetic.Even the voice overs are less than accurate. Add to this, that in India the disc is not really a DVD but a "Data disc" that is only viewable in 3D, ( I had to guess what was technically required to view the movie in 3D)as the menu does not load properly or allow any choice. I had to return the disc. Stay away from this one.
