I bought this for my two gerbils and they absolutely loved it. It was the perfect size for them to hide in, climb on, and chew. As gerbils’ teeth are always growing, they quickly got to work nibbling it. The cottage lasted about a week before they had chewed most of it away, but that’s exactly what I expected and part of the fun for them. It’s made from natural materials, so I felt happy letting them chew it, and it kept them entertained for days. I think it would also be a great size for hamsters and other small pets.

If you are making products for little animals, how can you fail with a name like Carrot Cottage? From the first moment my guinea pigs saw it, they took it to their hearts. It gives them everything a guinea pig likes: comfort, space to eat and rest, and the seclusion they love. I am beginning to think they see Carrot Cottage more as their office, and I am expecting to have to make an appointment if I want to see them. Best of all, though, because it is made of fibrous board, they have just discovered that they can also eat it, so its life expectancy is limited, but that is the least of the reasons why, as soon as I finish this review, I will be ordering another one. You can never have too much office space.

My rabbits love these! Loads of carrot pieces covering the top for great enrichment. Also a great place for rabbits to feel safe. Come assembled, just remove from packing and give them to the pets. They are sturdy as my large rabbit can sit on top and it won’t break. Get these for my rabbits when I go abroad so I know they feel safe.

My rabbit absolutely loves these houses, one of her favourite enrichment items. My only issue is that once it’s been chewed, it seems to smell pretty awful. Rabbit doesn’t notice but I do. Size could be a little bigger for the price but otherwise, worth a purchase.

I got the Rosewood Naturals Large Carrot Cottage for my bunny rabbit and paid £13.97 for it. He took to it quite quickly, both as a hideout and something to chew on. It’s made from hay and carrot so it feels natural and safe, and I like that there’s no plastic or glue. It does get nibbled down fairly fast, so it won’t last ages, but that’s expected. It’s a decent size for a rabbit to sit in and relax. Overall, it’s a nice little enrichment toy, just not very long-lasting.

My hamster loved it he kept climbing in it and sometimes sleeping in it

This hamster hut is well made and looks good enough to eat. It should be a favorite.

My guinea pigs love it! I bought it as a chew toy not really a hide. And as soon as I put it in the cage they started chewing on it! I will definitely order a size up next time only because the small is pretty small.
