This show is a masterpiece. Once you get past the opening episodes, which are set up in a way to deliberately provoke you, playing on the worst tropes of the genre, it turns everything on its head. This is a feminist story about bullying, homophobia, oppression and war. It's absolutely beautiful. Another stunner from the creator of Utena and Penguindrum.
