Question 1

Does pm2.5 or aqi take into account vocs?

Accepted Answer

Hello, thank you very much for your question, the S1 measures PM2.5 and AQI, no VOCs. Hope you like it!

Question 2

Does it test volatile organic compounds in the air?

Accepted Answer

There is no info in the manual (such as it is) for this gadget saying it tests for TVOC, but their M10 clearly states that the M10 does, so as a guess I would say no!

Question 3

What is AQI actually measuring?

Accepted Answer

Hello，
Thanks for your contacting, AQI stands for Air Quality Index. It is a measure of how polluted the air is in a particular area at a given time. The AQI provides a numerical value that ranges from 0 to 500, with higher values indicating higher levels of pollution and greater health risks. An AQI value of 100 is considered to be moderate, while a value of 150 or above is considered to be unhealthy for sensitive groups, such as children, the elderly, and people with respiratory or cardiovascular problems. An AQI value of 200 or above is considered to be unhealthy for everyone.and the general public to understand the level of air pollution in a given area and take appropriate actions to reduce exposure and protect public health.
Hope that helps.

Question 4

Could it be confirmed what the aqi score is actually based on though? how is it "sensing" air quality in the room - just pm2.5, or other things??

Accepted Answer

The display shows PM2.5 and the AQI. Temperature and humidity are also displayed.
