I replaced the broken spring mechanism, after 10 years the original poorly designed plastic pieces broke. This new replacement seems much better, using metal in place of some of the plastic. Description says to replace both; not sure why, I only replaced the broken one. It came with NO instructions and a single peel off label with a “R” on it. Puzzled. Anyway, it was easy to install. 10 months later the other side broke, and again the replacement process was simple. Update a year later: the other one broke. Update a year later: the cord broke on the 2nd replacement, so I purchased another pair. Next time I’ll just purchase the cord; the springs are reusable.

Bought in January, installed in February, broke in April. Build quality is crap. Unable to return since return window has closed.

someone was thinking.....very rare. Works beautifully and awesome it was available overnight. When these go, it's really unsafe and door slams down. An easy fix for someone who is a level 3-4 (out of 10) willingness and ability. Easy part is putting part in. Hard part can be putting dishwasher back without getting hoses smashed or preventing unit from sliding back all the way so mounting holes line up again. Tip..... get some cooking string or other string and bundle up hoses and power chord using a simple pull through knot then pull the string up and over top pulling the string toward you as dishwasher slides back in toward wall. This will keep the hoses and chord up and prevent bunching up on the floor, which can stop dishwasher from going all the way back in.

Pros: This fit my Bosch dishwasher perfectly. The door no longer drops to the floor and I didn't need to buy a new dishwasher. The washer is a super expensive and quiet stainless steel model that has the door held up by a cheap cotton string. I broke one of the strings, so I bought this two pack in case the other side breaks. Inexpensive fix. Cons: I hate this Bosch dishwasher and have for years. I was going to replace it with an ancient used Kenmore from the appliance repair shop but now that I've fixed it I'm stuck with it until something else on it breaks or I freak out and sell it. In college I had a dishwasher on wheels from the 70's that I would hook up to the faucet when needed. It had a solid butcher block top and everything else was metal, even the four buttons. It would run for 30 minutes. It may have sounded like a 747, but it got things clean... sometimes without soap! My roommate would wash ENGINE parts in it. The stupid Bosch that I fixed takes 3 hours to wash dishes that I've already scraped clean and the lables had worn off the plastic control panel within a year of purchase... but it's quiet. But it only needs to be that quiet because no one has any walls in their houses any more! Even then, who's talking? Who's reading? Who's watching TV? Everyone has their face glued to a 6 inch screen and their ears plugged up with plastic. I want a conversation pit, shag rug, wet bar, ugly fireplace, giant stereo, and a separate room in the basement for the TV where the kids can get wasted without me knowing or caring and on Sundays my friends and I can watch football and get drunk and loud and not worry about what my wife thinks because she can't hear us over the 150 decibels put out by the portable dishwasher.

Product didn’t work with my model (listed). I should have looked at mine before ordering. Product looked fine other than that, and returns are always easy.

Easy to replace yourself. Just watch some videos and do it. Minimal tools required and not much to it. The toughest part is getting the dishwasher out of the cabinet.

We have a Kenmore Elite dishwasher but could not find the part but after research we established the dishwasher is actually a Bosch. Further research led us to amazon and this part which is exactly what is needed but even better then what the manufacturer had originally. The door kit arrived next day and it went in so easily and works perfectly. The pics of kit really helped to compare what we had in our appliance. Once again the sellers in amazon came through for this repair. Thank you.

My dishwasher is Kenmore Elite 630.1290 (I was told made by Bosch), this kit fits perfectly. Pay attention to two points: 1. when insert the metal bracket end to the dishwasher chassis slot, give the metal bracket a few taps until it sits flush with the chassis. 2. Note the orientation of the plastic end piece when attach to the door hook. If the orientation is reversed, it still works but may break after some time.

While opening the door of our Bosch dishwasher, it made a big "clunk" noise, and the door suddenly got heavier. Once we pulled the dishwasher out, it was very easy to spot that the cable holding one of the two springs that support the weight of the door had broken. Unfortunately, the force of the spring snapping back broke the molded plastic frame of the door where the spring was attached (see left-most spring in picture). At first I thought I was going to have to find a replacement door! After some research on line, I discovered that the molded plastic breaking is a common problem, and that the spring assembly has been redesigned with a metal plate that slides into an existing slot in the doorframe (see middle & right in picture). The fix was very easy to do, and took only 10 minutes. Great product, good quality, reasonable price. I gave it 4/5 stars because it does not come with any kind of installation instructions. I definitely recommend this product, but you should watch some how-to videos on-line for replacing the spring assembly on Bosch dishwashers before you try doing it yourself if you are not at all handy. Product installed easily but plastic piece that goes on door hing broke off where string is inserted into it. Broken within 3 weeks. Poor quality. Suggest to pay a little more for geniune replacement part versus 3rd party manufacturers.
