Fantastic, most leak but this one works a treat

I read the reviews and felt a little apprehensive after I clicked buy now. However the comments do not give the whole picture. The item is fiddly to fit first time but went on and off no problem and didn’t leak. Used 5 times already! Good product for the money.

I bought what I thought were 2 identical 20l metal petrol cans but the spout only securely fits on one can. I managed to create an extra rubber washer to enable the spout to fit but it does leak a bit when pouring. Amazon adverts both said this spout was compatible. I decided to keep it as I couldn't find anything else that looked any better.

Should have read the reviews first. Like many, I found that it does not fit onto a Jerry can even that is precisely what it was designed to do. The problem is obvious. The rubber gasket is simply too thick. To test this I removed it and the nozzle fitted but if course with no gasket there was no seal and so would be useless. I had three choices. Throw it away or send it back or modify the gasket. I chose the latter. The gasket is about 7mm thick and a very solid rubber. So you can cut it to about 3-4mm. Easiest way is to hold it in a vice. The fix seems to work but I have yet to fill the can and pour it so can’t be sure I have a seal. There are also numerous poor reviews on the Jerry can from the same manufacturer. Just really frustrating that I had to do this to get a product to be usable. It must have been obvious that their design was not going to work.

It fits new and old jerry cans. Easy to use Sturdy. Good quality.

Although I was able to straighten the clip with a pair of pliers, it was bent on arrival and secure properly to my Jerry can. This nozzle does not come with the clip to secure it to the can, so I'll need to find one of those somewhere too. I wanted this nozzle because it doesn't have the flow restricted output that is found on some of the newer ones.

Poor quality doesn't sit in its storage. Get an original if you can.
