Great for listening when I'm away from home
I bought this to use with Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X headphones when I'm away from home. At home I use a Benchmark DAC1 with the built-in HPA2 headphone amp. The headphone sound of this USB cable is much better than the computer's Realtek motherboard audio, closer to the Benchmark DAC. As to the microphone in the cable, it will be plenty good for casual use, like phone calls, Zoom meetings, etc. The cord from the headphone plug to the microphone is quite short, so it hangs to the side of the face. The microphone audio is surprisingly noise-free in a quiet setting. But I would not recommend the microphone audio for tasks which require high audio quality, such as podcast recording. Overall, I think this cable is a good option for critical listening on the road, when you can't have your studio monitor system. EDIT: This USB C cable can plug into USB A using this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMTJL1N

It works amazingly well, depending on your device OS
All my devices sound louder as expected (tablet, laptop), except for my phone. You see, windows, macOS, hell even IOS allow dacs without a problem. However, for some reason my phone (android OS) doesnt have this feature system wide due to the way the operating system handles audio. In other words, without a specific app, your audio will sound the same. The solution being as I said, playing music via a specific app (such as USB Audio Player Pro). If I had to guess, its probably 30-40% louder with this cable. Honestly, im impressed with how good it is. $100 seems cheap for what it is. The only issues I have with it are OS dependent so they are not at fault. Hopefully they update android os with a fix, I doubt it thought.

Works great after it is installed but installation was not easy
I bought this mic to go with my son’s headset. It needed to be plugged into his PC for gaming. The box says it’s a plug and play system but it took more than that. I had to buy a usb converter as the c plug it comes with would not work right in the PC. Not a big deal except that the instructions online say the usb can be plugged into any spot on the PC but it cannot. I ended up taking a picture of the back of my PC and using AI to figure it out. I had to turn the converter around on the c plug and plug it into a different port. After all that it works great but calling it plug and play was a stretch. It’s more of a converter plug into the right port and play.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do
This is perfect for connecting the headphones to an iPhone. You get pause and track control, as well as volume control, on the wire. Make sure your model of headphones work with this wire.

Not powerful enough to power headphones with just the cable alone
Don't waste your money buying this unless you're okay with using your DT 700 pro X or DT 1990 Pro at half its potential. Your headphones will work but they will not have enough power. I don't know if this will work better with a USB-C headphone amp, but you don't need a usb-c amp because mostly all other amps will use the either the 3.5mm jack or the 1/4" jack that most wired headphones already come with.

Does what it’s meant to do.
Sounds good and easy to use on all devices with a usb c port. Plug and listen.

Garbage
This thing is garbage. I've bought it twice and both times they became useless within a few weeks of gentle use. The slightest bump causes the headphones to disconnect, making it impossible to listen to anything unless you hold perfectly still. I thought maybe I got a defective unit the first you've but no, this is just terrible product.

Perfect Solution, Mini XLR to USB C
Excellent Quality, all it's features work perfectly with my Ssun S22 Ultra, and S23 Iltra, even controling app volume and tracking over Bluetooth. Worth every penny!!!

I combined my headphones with a microphone to do work meetings
I bought this item to combine my headphone with a microphone. It is very simple and plug&play. It doesn't require any software or driver to install. I tested it on Windows, Linux, Android and it worked very well. It is really plug&play on all operating systems which is exactly what I wanted. On Linux, it uses a generic usb audio device driver, but unfortunately the output maximum volume is much lower than on Windows. I hav eno idea why, it is just how it is. It is usable and it works, no problem. Just an observation. If you plan to use this on Linux for loud music listening, you need to look somewhere else.

Functional, but static noise.
A bit pricey just to add a mic and supposedly a DAC. Often get noise artifacts with this cable!? For the price I shouldn't be experiencing that.
