Son of Batman [2014]

I bought this because I really enjoyed other DC animated films The Dark Knight Returns (parts 1 & 2) and Assault on Arkham. I wasn't sure what to expect from this one as the reviews were mixed and I have never been a big Robin fan.I have to say I was pleasantly surprised & thoroughly enjoyed it. Although Batman features a fair bit the story revolves around Damian (Robin) which was quite refreshing. I really liked the Anime style and the fight sequences were very well done. In summary: impressive animation, good story and a good voice cast. I am looking forward to the upcoming Batman vs Robin.

I am an absolutely huge Batman fan and i take every opportunity to see the charactor from comics through to video games. I felt that this was a strong entry into the Batman animated universe, as is the way with DCU animated features this film takes the events of two different comic book arcs and makes them into a single narrative. I felt that the animation in particular on this film was incredible with the action scenes slick, exciting and above all intense. I thought that the changes that had to be made to the existing stories were handled sympathetically. However i would say that if you were just stumbling onto Batman animated films then this would not be the best to start with. There is plenty of assuming that the vieiwer is aware of some of the Mythology (Batman has a Son and the villains motivations etc) I would say that this is a fine addition to an already existing collection, but if you are wanting to start one then choose the animated series, or if you just want an amazing film pick under the red hood.

A great animated feature. I wouldn't recommend it for younger viewers as it is quite gory in places but a great story, fast paced. If you like the Batman then this is a must for your collection!

A must have bat movie for bat fans great story line & great twists in this movie i loved every bit of this movie it was well worth the money.

Great movie. Enjoyed by myself & my son. I don't think you need to know much about batman to get the most out of this movie. It doe's however feature much lesser known villains.

Batman discovers that he has a son called Damian who has been trained as a member of the League Of Assassins by his grandfather, Rhas Al Ghoul. When Deathstroke kills Rhas Al Ghoul, Damian sets off after him while Batman trains him to become the new Robin. These animated DC movies are a must buy for DC fans with this being the first in a series of animated Batman movies making this a must for Batman fans as well though despite what it says on the main page, this is not for children. It's violent, dark and adult so once again with DC animated movies, don't be fooled into thinking that just because it's a cartoon and has Batman in it that it'll be suitable for kids. Jason O'Mara leads a decent cast as the latest to voice Batman with some decent animation and some good action in a story that's faithful to the original comics and features original Robin Dick Grayson who is now Nightwing, while Damian proves to be a psychopathic new Robin. This is Batman for adults. Not kids.

This animated movie is awesome, everything about this movie is great and should watch.

If you like your Batman stories with bloody violence, then you will probably like this one.
