This perfume is sex in a bottle! I can hardly believe it is made entirely of plant products; it smells of raw animal hormones. The high notes are peppery and spicy, the base notes,whatever they are, are like damp whip leather on flesh. You could buy it for your man. The trouble is you wouldn't be able to let him out the door with it on!

This reminds me of a forest after a rainfall.It's a spicy oriental with ginger, and black pepper. A hint of freshly wet wood and leather.It's animalistic and decidedly masculine. Woody, spicy, aromatic and green. Absolutely lovely.

This is a very sensual and evocative scent heavy with spices, leather and animalic scents. Bursts of clove, cinnamon, black pepper with ginger and cardamon could smell like rich Christmas cake but the animalic scents of leather and moss make it smell like the leather jacket of an incredibly sexy rugged man- think Dean Winchester from Supernatural if you like.This could be compared to a deeper sexier Aramis or Opium for men, so it isn't light nor fresh, this scent packs a very manly pheromone punch.It dries down to a pink pepper spicy leathery musk that kept me grabbing my husband's neck to keep getting a noseful which he was very happy about.Overall a very masculine ruggedly sexy scent with animalic tones that definitely had an effect on this woman, this is so worth the price.

Lovely, wonderful, fragrance from designer perfumier Bertand Duchaufour, renowned for his travels resourcing exotic ingredients. It came out in 2004.This time, he went to Mali and concocted an amazing scent based on ancient ingredients, such as myrrh, and natural local fruit and spices, such as ginger, nuts, black pepper and spices, all in the age old quest to cast a spell on the opposite sex.This oriental class scent would work for either sex. However, it is so sensuous, it might best be reserved for evening wear.It smells of just-got-out of the bath soapiness, or even new handbags.It is masculine, animal and very sexy. It is absolutely gorgeous.My rating is 7.9 out of 10.

There's a big hit of black pepper, it's sharp but soon dries down to something really quite special. It's been described as having a mid-note that is redolent of the handback section at Selfridges: soft feminine leather, wet woods, sweet citrus cutting through with a comforting and sumptuous dry-down. Forgive the pretentious simile but it reminded me of my Dad's 1979 metallic gold Ford Granada Ghia; at the time a thing of incredible prestige but accessible too. That cuts to the extremely clever way this scent works for both women and men; it isn't blandly unisex, it's complexity allows the wearer to project whatever is relevant for them.

I think this is stunning. I've worn it for getting on for a decade and it still lifts my spirits. It is woody and spicy, with a lingering note of incense and with a reasonable but not exceptional longevity. I would have thought suitable for both men and women. Very distinctive.UPDATE: since posting the review, this perfume has been "tweaked" and has, in my view, lost some of what made it special. It is still nice enough, but no longer the scent that it once was. A great shame.
