Sensitive to wet carpet
These things are great! Haven't had long but very impressed with my initial tests! Mainly needed for detecting wet carpet near a water filter that has accidents. It immediately went off when placed on damp carpet. It is very loud; we are not sleeping on any more water damage. Easiest thing to drop into place, appeciate that it just uses 2 AAA batteries which are included. I definitely wish I had this ealier and almost wish I had bought a bigger set.

Great to have around the house
This is a great product. They will work with only a drop of water, sitting on or in water and have never let us down.

It's super loud - Update Oct 2025: Saved me $$$$ in repairs
Update: Oct 2025. --- It's been over 2 years since I put one under the kitchen sink. Yesterday I come home to the alarm just blaring. Took a minute to figure out what that noise was since I bought this thing so long ago that I totally forgot about it. Well, turns out my kitchen faucet had developed a leak and thanks to this little detector I was able to clean up the little puddle of water and fix the faucet before it had a chance to ruin my cabinet and kitchen. Without this alarm, I'm sure the water would have been dripping for days to weeks causing expensive damage before I figured out what was happing. This little $8 alarm saved me hundred of dollars with an early warning. I just bought a bunch more to put under every bathroom faucet in the house. The cheap AAA batteries that came with it lasted 2 years. That alone is amazing. --- end of update --- I did a test run. They're loud and they work. I tested one in the attic and we could hear the ear piercing alarm through the house. Here's to hoping the batteries will last at least 6 months in standby mode.

Ok
Tested fine. Hopefully Iโll never have to find out how it works for real!

Good product bought the 3 set.
Easy to get battery compartment open, thanks to the enclosed plastic opener. Tested it, it will detect water even the start of small amount. The alarm is loud enough to hear through the house. Some have said it's not loud enough I didn't find that the case, I'm even some hard of hearing. I would recommend.

Saved by the Alarm
I put a detector down by my rv toilet. Next day, the alarm. Went off, saving me a mess in my camper.

Detector
Detects water leaks. . . Pros; Uses two cheap AAA batteries. Cons: Batteries last only two years, whereas a name-brand leak detector uses one 9 volt battery that lasts five years. Not as loud as name-brand detector. Your choice - probably fairly reliable in an area where thereโs a lot of human activity. Iโm not sure this would wake you up if you had a leaking water heater in your basement. Name-brand detector has a long cord leading to detection prongs where you could mount this in the floor joists. Cheap. . .

Buy enough to put in each room that has a water pipe.
These are great alerts for early warning of a leak. Had my house flooded and after completely redoing the house found these on line. There is also a low battery alert to let you know when to change the batteries. Came home 2 weeks ago and the alarm under my sink was going off. It was the tube for the ice maker that had burst. I still had repairs but thanks to the alarm the water was caught before it got really bad.
