Temperature air or surface measurements can be made using the built-in Type K input (thermocouple probe sold separately). Additionally, the 45170 includes a light sensor, and its display reverses when in light mode. Type K temperature input (probe sold separately, view larger). The 45170 features a built in thermistor for ambient temperature measurements and a precision thin-film capacitance humidity sensor for fast response. The low friction vane wheel improves accuracy when measuring air velocity in ft/min, mph, m/s, km/h, and knots. For light measurement, the 45170 utilizes a precision photo diode and color correction filter and can provide cosine and color corrected light measurements. Other features include of minimum/maximum readings, a Data Hold function to freeze the displayed value, auto power off, and low battery indication. The device has a temperature range of 32 to 122 degrees F, a humidity range of 10 to 95 percent relative humidity (RH), and light measurement capabilities of up to 1860 foot candles or 20,000 lux.
