Quality at value price
This is an excellent UV filter with a quality build at a value price. Slim, lightweight and tight fitting, it not only reduces UV light and haze, but protects the camera lens too.Works well in all light conditions, including low light, ensuring good sharp photos.

Rude not to buy
I needed a lens protector for my camera and didn't want to lash out on a top name multicoated filter. It MAY degrade the image a bit but I can't notice in everyday photography and its just so well priced its a bargain. The box and case it comes in looks worth than the money paid. How do they do it?

Good dust and moisture protection
Even after watching videos and hearing what people had to say about these filters, I was really unsure about buying one, I didn’t know if it was really necessary and if I’d be wasting money. The main reason I wanted one was to prevent dust from getting on the camera lens and also to protect it from any rain drops that might get on it. I’m glad I bought one, it does protect the camera in the ways mentioned. It could protect from other damage, but I do know these filters are quite fragile and if broken could possibly end up doing more harm than good, but if you’re careful I think it’s a good thing to add on to the camera lens. I like that you can still put your lens cap on too, I thought I would have to remove the filter to do that. The 55mm is a perfect fit for my lumix fz82 and if it makes any difference to picture quality I haven’t really noticed. As for the UV protection, I will have to try it out in different lighting conditions to see if it makes any difference... So 4 stars for now.

52mm UV filter - essential
An essential purchase for you lens, to protect the front element from dirt, fingerprints, smudges or impact, if nothing else. This Amazon basics filter arrived in a plain cardboard box, with an unmarked plastic case inside that should fit a variety of filter sizes. Fits the front of my lens easily and securely and allows the lens cap to fit normally as well. No noticeable effect on optics, just an added layer of protection for the front of the lens (and you don't mind giving it a good scrub if it gets dusty).

Excellent Value and Protection
There is so much nonsense written about UV protection. What has changed since the days of film and flarey UV shots is that most Digital cameras have sensors with a degree of built in UV filtration, combine that with modern lenses that have multiple coatings on each element reducing both UV and other image degrading effects from stray light and the UV problem is minimal, (unless you happen to live high in the Andes) . What has n't changed is the fact that you are going to whack your lens on a table one day... or drop it...or take a shot and get covered in sea spray and a UV filter is going to save your lens. That simple fact, along with preventing dust and smudges directly on a lens which will cause image problems, make a UV filter the cheapest and most sensible addition to every lens.

Yet another quality product from Amazon Basics.
Well priced 58mm UV lens.Have noticed absolutely no difference in image quality even when pixel peeping. Most people get these not only for UV reduction but for an extra layer of protection on your expensive lens.Pocket change for a layer of protection against drops and (more likely) scratches/smudges on your lens.As the name suggests, it's part of the AmazonBasics brand which so far in my experience have been offering well priced, quality products for every day needs.Comes in a sturdy plastic casing which can be reused for another filter (multiple thread lengths) you want to protect so a 2-in-1 product. You'd be silly not to get one!

These are nice for their price.
I have not used these much yet but they do work well for what they are intended. I’m sure there are better filters, but, for the amateur photographer with a modest budget these work great. I have purchased several ‘Amazon Basics’ items. The ‘Amazon Basics’ products seem to be well above average. I am pleased with these filters & if necessary would buy again.
