I found it very hard wearing. Was still perfect on my toes by the end of a 3 week beach holiday!

Do you need a base coat? there's an option which includes a black polish. Does it produce a stronger effect with a black base?

Hi, yes this is a lot more effective with black underneath. Also from past experience, prior to painting your nails black, if I were you I'd use a clear base coat so your nails don't get discoloured. Plus, with each coat, I'd advise you not to use too much polish & ensure each coat is completely dry or cured, depending weather you're using normal nail polish or gel polish.
