My New Favourite.
13/10! ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ Aromatic and Delicious, I drink like a litre of the stuff every day at this point, as somebody who's not a big fan of straight water, this is the kinda thing that helps me to get the hydration I need, on top of that, Mugicha actually has lots of fibre and antioxidants in it, which makes it super good for your health! AND let's talk about value! 32 Bags at this price, and every bag makes like 2 freaking litres of the stuff! Seriously, I can't recommend it enough.

When is a tea not a tea?
As mentioned in the other review despite having "cha" (tea) in name Mugicha has no tea in it of any description: it is purely roast barley. I think this is quite unique to Japan. I've made up two batches of cold Mugicha so far and is very good, with true flavour as I remember it from years back. One bag makes up about a third of a gallon of drink. I make it and leave in fridge (helps preserve it too). Can be drunk hot too in winter but mainly a summer cold drink: the aroma is often described as "the smell of summer" in Japan. Distinctive flavour, a little bitter, a little smokey and a little nutty. The bitterness makes it similar to brown tea, but more distinctive. I would buy again, a bit pricey but good quality and reflects originality and shipping costs I guess.

Good flavour and value for money. Best served cold but hot also good.

Authentic quality/taste, large-size barley tea bags
The product is somewhat expensive, but one tea bag can last me for two days, and it's a nice refreshing change to have from other tea flavors. If you just use these occasionally, one pack can easily last throughout a whole year. I was first introduced to mugicha in Japan, and it's typically drunk cold in the summer months. The taste is a bit like cold coffee.

Smokey caffeine free tea.
Lovely smokey flavour. Great for weaning self of caffeine. One bag goes a long way. Great with a dash of lemon. Can be served hot or cold.

You get a whole lot of tea, and it's very high quality barley tea. Heavily toasted very dark having a wonderful Smokey flavor that's still very smooth while being very flavorful. One bag can probably make significantly more than the 1 l it says it makes on the bag. Unfortunately the bag is not resealable but for the price I'm not complaining about having to use a gallon ziplock. extremely good value even if you drink this every single day it'll probably last you well a month. Great alternative to coffee and it's totally on caffeinated so you could drink it at any time of the day.

Apparently, barley is rather healthy. Antioxidants, anti-immaflammatory, digestive health etc. No caffeine. It also tastes great. I think the most immediately noticeable benefit is hydration. You put it in a pitcher and stick it in the fridge, then forget about it for a few hours. You end up with cool, tasty tea all day long. I drank more fluids today than I have since maybe ever. Didn't even think about it. Just wanted more tea. 1 bag for an entire day. It's excellent.

Great tea and easy to have ready all the time. I just put a bag into my glass pitcher, fill with water and it brews perfectly.

I like that it is truly made in Japan and the barley used is also Japanese. Some people are dissatisfied with its taste, perhaps misunderstanding how to brew it. Although it is a "tea bag", it is not designed to be soaked in a "tea cup." It can be made into at least 1L of barley tea (left in the refrigerator for cold brewing overnight). I like a lighter taste. I boil it with 2L of water and keep the tea bag steeped, and it still tastes good. Drinking enough water every day makes me feel a little nauseous, but with the light fragrance of barley tea, even if I drink a lot, I wonโt feel sick like water. It basically replaces part of my water intake. . Sugar-free barley tea has many benefits and has always been an indispensable part of our lives. *Be gentle when tearing apart two tea bags connected together. *When you put the tea bag in hot water and boil it, there will be a layer of oil on the top. Please don't worry, it is normal and natural and comes from barley.
