May i ask, is this a silicone oil, hence usable on my juki sl machine (non electronic)

It doesn't say on the bottle but i use it on all my machines from vintage to new ones, singer, frister and rossman and janome and it does exactly what is should.

How do you open it? Not sure if red neck piece should unscrew or if, with cap removed, a nail or similar needs to be pushed down the hole to pierce?

The red cap at the top just pulls off, you then pierce a hole and away you go, replace cap to store. On first glance it does like it is all one piece but it is not! It is a conventional cap that we all know. It does need a bit of a tug initially.

is this oil for machine parts not gears

It’s a light lubricating oil. Can be used around the house as a general lubricant eg door handles, window catch, door hinges. For Gears, because of the continuous rubbing action, a thicker, sticky oil would be ideal but no doubt for gearing on model railways, small mechanical pumps etc this oil would do the job.
