Write-up says it's dishwasher safe, but a review says it isn't. Can it be put in the dishwasher safely?

No, it cannot. Any two piece flatware servers (spoons, ladles, servers, etc.) will be damaged in a dishwasher, no matter what material they are made of. The long exposure to very hot water in a dishwasher will eventually get into the joint and damage the glue holding the parts together. It's especially damaging to porcelain because the stainless part of the tool will retain the heat and may cause cracking.

Aha! The salad serving pieces! Gift to my Mom, but the website says they are 10 inches in length, and Mom loves them. Generally, she makes lots of salad for 2 people. My siblings visited, and I vaguely recall the salad bowl was giant, but not deep, and they were perfectly sized. In a deeper salad serving bowl, they might not work so nicely. Hope that helps!

Are these made of 18/10 stainless steel? What is the grade, please?

There is no stamp on the metal telling what grade of steel it is. I have many different serving spoons/salad tossing sets and they all have metal that looks and acts like stainless steel. You might look at the official portmeirion website for more info. Their customer service department has helped my out in the past.
