Lightweight, packable and great emergency use or to supplement sleep system when your sleeping bag proves not to be as warm as the rating suggests. Remember whilst emergency blankets prevent you losing 90% of body heat, if you wrap it around someone already hypothermic they may need extra heat sources, even if you just put some handwarmers in their armpits! Useful in a First-aid kit too, as prevention against Shock. I like these ones as they are repackable and suited to multiple uses, where the cheap silver ones rip in a slight breeze. These aren't as noisy as cheap ones either. If your going to use in emergencies, its useful the outside is Orange for visibility. Hopefully your casualty won't get run over by the ambulance!

I have one of these already, I use it for lightweight ground sheet for camping and carrying it for emergency, if you carry some small amounts of gaffer tape on your walking poles you can fashion it into a form of bivvy bag or tape it around you under your waterproofs if awaiting rescue or delay on your walk. Great bit of kit and arrived quickly, lighter than a bothy bag for summer use.

Useful to have in the boot of your car(s) just in case. I just hope I will never need them!

Yes it's more expensive than the disposable thermal blankets. - But those are a danger - one small tear and they're garbage. This blanket is 10x more durable (you can still tear it with abuse, it just doesn't disintegrate itself)., while still being lightweight and compact. Used as a groundsheet/emergency blanket/ rain cover for ultralight camping - perfect :)

Pricey, but probably the best emergency blanket you can get. I carry one on my runs up on the fells. It's good to know I wouldn't freeze to death if I got injured in the middle of nowhere.

You don't need to wait till you are needing airlifting off K9 to use this and you don't have to be an intrepid explorer of mountaineer to find one of these handy. Last time I was freezing cold was mid summer on a steam train with no heating on trailing down the Rocky mountains. It's small enough and light enough to keep in your bag and when you're freezing at 3am in Flagstaff waiting for a train that's 6 hours late, or on a train or anywhere else, you wrap up and warm up!

You have to have one of these sat at the bottom of your rucksac. super lightweight and a must if you get into trouble on the fells or generally out walking. you may one day need to keep warm while someone comes to rescue you. not a bad thing to have should you come across someone else in trouble and injured. for the price be safe.

It's OK but a lot more than most similar blankets. At the same time as buying these at £6.99 each, I bought a 10 pack of another make that worked out at 99p each. They actually seem very similar so I weighed them and this blanket is about 20% heavier than the (much) cheaper ones, so I assume it's stronger. However, I've always found the decent cheaper ones do the job. The reason I tried these is because they are apparently re-usable, however, in practice I imagine folding it all back up into a similar size as it started out would be a bit tricky and you would have to do that 7x to get the value compared to the cheaper ones.

To say these units are superior to old style space blankets is like saying that light is brighter than dark. I have used space blankets, and equipped my preparedness kits, survival kits, and bush gear with such for over two decades now. I had the SOL products recommended to me and am so glad I was. I don't know where to begin when it comes to the superiority of this product over old style ones. From blankets to bivies they thought this stuff out. I ordered blankets, one person, and two person bivies and have already ordered more. Let me start with the packaging this company uses. The blankets come in a durable, larger than the blanket, resealable ziplock style bag. The bivies are in a drawstring cloth like bag that is around twice the size of the bivy. Now, to me, this shows forethought. It is clear that it might be hard to get a blanket or bivy folded exactly into the manufacturer size after use;anyone who has use one of these sorts of things knows that. Making the bags that hold these things both durable and larger means it will be easy to get them back contained for reuse. The material is softer, more durable, and far less noisy (crinkle crinkle of the old style ones ring bells for anyone?) than the old style. I have tried them out already and love their capabilities in all those areas. I also like that one side is metallic and the other is blaze orange. This gives many more options. Flat out, I love them. I am ordering enough to not only replace all my current space blankets in all survival, first aid, and prep kits. I highly recommend them.

Credo che questo sia uno di quegli articoli per cui sia difficile fare una vera e propria recensione sul prodotto in se, per un semplice motivo.... si spera di non doverlo mai usare! Questa coperta di emergenza è uno di quei prodotti salva-vita assolutamente necessari a quelle persone che fanno scouting o amano avventurarsi in posti non propriamente dotati di comodità. Credo possa trovare anche una buona collocazione in macchina visto il suo ingombro veramente contenuto. L'ho acquistata perché d'estate non disdegno qualche passeggiata nei boschi di montagna e in caso di necessità potrebbe davvero rendersi utile. Il prodotto appare subito di qualità: il sacchettino di plastica, non leggera, può essere infilato ovunque senza la preoccupazione che il contenuto si rovini; anche se robusto nella parte alta ci sono i classici due taglietti a destra e sinistra per poter aprire la confezione in un attimo, ciò da al tutto un senso di usa e getta, ma dubito che tendenzialmente chi acquisti questo prodotto lo faccia in funzione di un uso frequente.... Anche se indubbiamente la coperta una volta ripiegata potrà essere riutilizzata. Consiglio l'acquisto poichè appena in mano il prodotto appare serio, efficace e potenzialmente molto utile.
