2 defective drives out of 5 ordered
This was one of the drives I returned. I ordered 5 x 8TB drives. The 1st and 2nd came good, 3rd one has some bad sectors but it’s ok I accepted. The 4th one was simply not running. So I returned this item and ordered a 5th one to replace it, it also was defective. So: 3 out of 5 drives - I would normally give 3 stars, but I can’t because of the disappointment and waiting . So 2 stars because atleast the first 2 were perfect and the 3rd was just ok.

Keeps showing Warning signs on the Software
I attached this directly to my QNAP TR-004 DAS, it was ok from the start but after few weeks it starts showing some warning signs on my QNAP software. The problem is there's no way to fix it but to change the drive, but because i bought this online, there's no way to exchange this after few weeks of using. As a user of NAS/DAS, this is a big "no recommendation" for me.

Works as advertised
They sent the correct model number, after getting burned in the past I always verify the model number on the drive to what is on the site that I bought it from. Its easy for a warehouse worker to grab the wrong item when SeaGate has like 6 different active SKU's for IronWolf 8 TB 3.5 inch SATA drives. This is my 4th Iron Wolf in a Raid 5 it took roughly 28-30 hours for it to fully sync with my RAID Array and that was while the NAS was under regular use and 75% full at the time in which I installed the drive. I did mix this with some other Iron Wolf's non PRO's so I can confirm the models do not need to be identical in order to join a RAID 5 array.

Solid drive — just needed more space for my NAS and this did the job perfectly
I grabbed the IronWolf Pro 8TB because my NAS was running out of room, and honestly, it’s been spot‑on. Slotted it in, powered up, and it was recognised straight away with no fuss. It’s been running quietly in the background ever since, doing exactly what I needed it to do. Nothing flashy, nothing dramatic — just a reliable, fast drive that gives me the extra storage I needed. If you’re expanding your NAS and want something dependable that you don’t have to think about again once it’s installed, this one’s been great for me.

Dead on Arrival
The hard drive failed as soon as I tried to format it. It also made a clicking noise, which makes me think it may have been dropped or damaged before I received it. It may have been badly damaged during transport, but I don't know for certain, that's just my guess based on the clicking sound and the fact that it wouldn't work. I will not buy another hard drive from Amazon again. This is why I hesitated before writing this review, but I wanted to share my experience so other buyers are aware.
