I BOUGHT THIS A LONG TIME AGO. I WAS HAVING BROILERS BREATHING AT NIGHT. DURING THE WINTER WHEN HEATING WAS HIGH MY NOSE FELT BLOCKED. IF I LAY IN BED I WOULD WAKEN UNABLE 5O BREATH THROUGH MY NOSE. IT WAS A VERY BAD SENSATION IT FELT LIKE I WQS GOING TO DIE. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS ITEM. IT WAS A LOT OF MONEY BUT I WAS SO DESPERATE I NEEDED TO FIND SOMETHING TO HELP. I TRIED BASIL SPRAYS WHICH HELPED A LITTLE AT START THEN STOPPED WORKING. I USED THIS MORNING QND NIGHT EVERYDAY FOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS. ..THEN I WAS ABLE TO USE IT TWO OR THREE TIMES A WEEK. THEN IN FEW MONTHS I WQS ABLE TO STOP. AMD ONLY USE IT IF REQUIRED WHICH MIGHT ONLY B3 ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR. I USED BASIL SPRAYS AND MEDICATION FOR ALMOST TWO YEAR AND NEVER FELT RELAX. AFTER A FEW DAYS I FELT THE BE NIT OF THIS ITEM ANS EVEN I HARDLY USE IT NOW I WOULD NEVER SELL IT. ANOTHER USE IS IF YOU HAVE A SORE THROAT AND CANT GARGLE SALT WATER. THEN USE THIS. HOPE THIS HELP YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE.

Amazing!
Firstly let me say I never thought i would be one of those people writing a glowing review of any product - no matter how good! I have had sinus issues for many years and even had an operation to remove nasal polyps which was successful for a while but I had been suffering from chronic nasal congestion for 3-4 months. I had a low grade fever, headaches, was lethargic, lost my sense of taste and smell and could not sleep properly as my blocked nose impaired my breathing. I have also tried numerous antibiotics, nasal drops and a neti pot in the past but with limited success. I was literally at my wits end and thinking I would have to look into further surgery for any kind of relief. I had done lots of research on the internet but nothing seemed to guarantee a positive response - mainly it was people saying they could NEVER find anything to help longterm. I have to say I ordered the SinuPulse in desperation - it is not cheap but I could not stand feeling the way I did any longer. The machine arrived quickly and was very easy to set up and use. I used it morning and night for about 10 days and my problems literally cleared up like magic! All of the secondary symptoms were alleviated immediately and within 3 or 4 days it was obvious the infection was being cleared out. I am so grateful and thankful I decided to give it a go and would recommend it to anyone with sinus issues like mine. I have it on standby now in case of winter colds which always led to sinus problems for me!

SinuPulse Elite Advanced Nasal Sinus Irrigation Spray System
SinuPulse Elite Advanced Nasal Sinus Irrigation Spray System Following a month of severe Sinusitis and severe tooth pain (that antibiotics failed to resolve) I tried two things simultaneously. The two things I did were to cut out ALL dairy produce from my diet and second, I purchased and used this product - twice daily. This gave relief within a couple of days which I'm pleased to say was sustained over a month later. I'm not 100% sure how effective the machine was compared to the diet change but it certainly helped. I suspect that the most effective relief was cutting out the dairy produce because when I allowed myself even a small amount, my symptoms quickly returned. I had use for only one nozzle, the main one with the dark blue tip as the sprays and mouth sprays were of no use to me. The SinuPulse electronic system was not something I was comfortable to take on flights - it seems fragile - and so I took a bottle system when my sinuses were clear enough to fly to maintain the rinses. The sinus rinse bottle system seemed to work as well for much less cost although sometimes I had to mix a couple of rinses as the bottles held half the volume. (NeilMed market a 240 ml bottle, available in BOOTS - there is a half size Paediatric version on Amazon). Take care with your choice, some products are less helpful. The largest bottle I found was 240 ml and this is less than half the volume of this product. I had previously used a neti pot and recently other systems of nasal rinse. It is hard to be sure which is better. Yes, it is better to have the solution pumped through but there is less volume than I would have used with a neti pot. Sometimes I had to make a couple of rinses for it to feel effective with the machine. (For those who want the gross detail, it is also possible to 'gargle' not with the throat but with the nasal passageways to really clear this area.) Another benefit overall was that I have stopped using decongestants and over the counter nasal sprays - but for me, this also required the complete cutting of dairy produce from my diet. The system was also helpful in clearing the airways before using a prescription steroid nasal spray. The spray alone did not clear the passageways - but it remains helpful and I continue it along with the nasal irrigation. Although I'm not 100% clear I'm vastly improved and sleeping with clear passageways at night without a long ritual to clear the airways. The product is expensive for what a bottle will do but it is a valuable and useful product.

Sinupulse Elite - VERY welcome relief for chronic sinusitis.
I have suffered from chronic sinusitis (on and off) for about 5 years now but, since moving to Shanghai last year, I have been suffering constantly. Without wanting to be too graphic, it was like having chewing gum stuffed in to my sinuses and not being able to get it out without massive doses of antibiotics, steroid sprays, sudafed pills and spray and the squeezy bottle with salt solution. All these, however, barely managed to reduce the symptoms enough for me to consider myself healthy again. I went from stuffy to completely blocked - never totally free and clear. Until this. I brought it while on a visit back to the UK out of desperation as nothing else has worked. I've been using it twice a day for about 2 to 3 weeks and have now reduced to once daily for the past 2 weeks. 5 weeks of treatment in total and I am pretty much symptom free. I use it with warm, distilled or pre-boiled water and it really does work a treat. To begin with, I'd have to use the Sudafed spray just to release enough pressure to be able to flush at all. I was so blocked that the squeezey bottle just wouldn't force the solution all the way through and would just leak everywhere. I no longer need any medications at all. I use it religiously, even when all appears well, and it's amazing what it actually gets flushed out each night. I never knew quite how blocked I was. It sounds as though I work for the company, having just re-read this review. I NEVER leave reviews either but am so relieved that I have found a solution. And a drug-free one too!!! I will travel with the squeezey bottle but I think I will be using the Sinupulse Elite every night for the foreseeable future. It's sooooo nice to be able to breathe properly, not snore as much (according to my wife), not suffer with as many allergies, not take all the drugs and not wake up feeling like someone has stuffed cotton wool in my mouth and more chewing gum up my nose. Sorry, but it's absolutely true. Every single word. I may even buy a spare as I live in China right now. I can't bare the thought of having to go back to the drugs if something happened to my machine. I did have one small issue. One of the little "arms" snapped. It could have been weakened during shipping or something but their customer service has been outstanding and I have a new one in the post as we speak after just a couple of days from my initial email. I cannot say enough (as you can likely tell by now!) about the Sinupulse Elite. I'm symptom free for the first time in a very long time and it was well worth the financial leap of faith that I took. But even with the price and the salts (which I find somewhat superior to the ones that came with my old Squeezey bottle), it HAS to be cheaper than all those doctors visits, prescriptions, sudafed spray and pills, endless boxes of tissues. I think I've made my point. If you're suffering from Sinusitis, BUY THIS MACHINE and find something else to complain about. It won't be sinuses.

Unbelievable improvement
I purchased my sinu-pulse in November 2012 after a two-month sinus problem. I used to dread catching a cold because I knew it would lead to infected sinuses and ultimate anti-biotic treatment. Within a week of using the machine twice a day, I had cleared the infection but was still suffering congestion due to swollen sinuses. I did get from the doctor beconase which sorted out the inflammation. I have just had a cold and used the machine each day just once. For the first time in 35 years my cold lasted just one week. This is unbelievable, normally by now I would be battling with a blocked, crusty nose and a sinus infection. This is undoubtably the most gentle way to sort out recurring sinus infections. I would add, you have to perservere. Don't blow your nose too hard after using it unless you block any problem ear first. I found that by inverting my head during use it gets right into the sinuses around the eye and cheek area. After about 15/20 minutes invert your head again and the remains of the salt water will just wash out of your nose. It is very noisy, I would say that is a very small price to pay for healthy sinuses. I would just add that in my experience congestion relief medicine does not do any favours to sinus sufferers in fact I think it makes the condition worse. This machine is all I need now.

Head Saver!
Wow! What a piece of kit this SinuPulse has turned out to be. On average, my wife has to go to the doctors twice a year for antibiotics to clear her sinuses. She gets the constant headaches, the nasaly speech, etc. You can blow your nose until it sore, but it won't cure the problem. If you're reading this, you've probably been through the same thing. I don't want to be too gross here, but she was absolutely amazed at how much "Came out", if you know what I mean? It was like a "hallelujah" moment, "I can breathe!" Even I've had a go, and was amazed. If your dithering about whether to get one, don't. I have no affiliation to any of them, only the experience I have outlined above. It might seem a tad expensive, but the instant relief it gives the sufferer is worth every penny. I would recommend it to anyone, Tony.

Voltage and adapter needed?
I am baffled. It comes with it seems a EU plug. Says 110V only. There’s no UK adaptor in the box. I don’t know what it needs. Was too ill to use it on purchase and now it seems I have wasted a huge amount of money on something I cannot use in the UK. One star because can’t give it none! My husband told me it was an American plug. The instructions say “do not use an adaptor”. After messaging the supplier several times and finally Amazon after finding out that, well actually, I believe, this should not have been sold in the UK with this voltage and this plug, I managed to obtain a refund. Thank you Amazon.

Reasonable Product
This is a reasonable product but for me did not deliver the benefits I thought it would. About the machine itself, the build quality and design in my opinion is very poor. Firstly the water tank always comes off the unit whenever I take it out of the cupboard. The tank itself is sort of a stepped design and the only thing connecting it to the base is where the outlet from the tank goes into the base unit. This does not keep the two things together. I have also accidentally knocked the water tank off the unit and due to its lack of fixing to the base, meant that the solution from the tank went everywhere. The actual way you put water into the unit (I use a pyrex jug) means that it can spill down the front into the dial switch. There is no sort of lip or anything to contain excess water. Of course I'm being a little ham fisted when I fill it up, but having a lip or a recessed filling point would stop this from happening. The dial flow control on my unit is very stiff and is difficult to turn with one hand. This also isn't helped by the positioning of the dial. You sort of have to twist your wrist around to actuate it. Hard to do when you are using the unit and want to adjust the pressure. As others have mentioned the power button sticks and I have to kind of flick it with my finger to turn the unit off. Turning on is no problem. The unit is very noisy - not too dissimilar from a blender. The power cable and pipe for the nozzle always seem to get twisted up. Now onto the health benefits... This is very subjective as everyone is different but I have found the ability to remove mucus from my nose is not very good. But then again I had the same problem with a neti-pot and I supposed I expected more from this unit as it is a powered spray. However, after use my nose does feel clearer - but it fails to dislodge the mucus I have that is stuck up at the top of my nose that restricts my sense of smell. I give this item 3/5 mainly due to the poor build quality. It doesn't give me personally that much benefit but I can see for some people it would be very helpful. Finally, the sachets that you must purchase to use the unit are very expensive. Something to bare in mind if you are using this twice daily and intend to buy the approved sachets.

It works like others have said
Edit on 8/22/13: as some others have experienced, the lid's hinge has broken off for me too. I have year round allergies, clogged sinuses, and some pretty bad post nasal drip. I'm the guy in the office always clearing his throat. I'm tired of being that guy. So i read a ton about what might be causing this and I found out some good tips that have helped me (more on that later). One of the things I stumbled upon were some great reviews of this SinuPulse irrigator. It didn't take me long to go through a few reviews and purchase it. It arrived in 1 day to my pleasant surprise. I didn't use it right away, but since I've had it for the past 2 weeks, it has been a god send. I use it twice a day and let me tell you that my sinuses are in a lot better shape and my nasal drip (while still there) is NOT as bad as it used to be. I'd say there's a 90% improvement in my breathing through the nose and nasal drip. I used it in the morning and about 1 hr before bed (as recommended). Two things you should also buy to make it convenient: an electric water pot that I use to boil the water and a see through measuring cup. So what I do is I pour in the powdered saline solution and the about 10 oz of boiled water. I then pour in about 5-6 more oz of room temperature distilled water. That gets it juuuuust cool enough. I pour the rest into the machine and then go to town. I set it initially at about 3-4 to prime the pump and get the water flowing. I then turn the knob to about 5-6 and then flush away. I do one side for about 6-8 seconds then press the stop button. I blow one side of my nostril out out into the sink. Then I turn on the pump and irrigate the other side and blow out that nostril (gross, I know). I repeat this until the saline solution is no more. Use the same measuring cup to pour some water in (i only pour 8oz) and let it clear out any remaining saline thru the irrigator into the sink (not your nose!!!). Results: In the morning, I always expel some of the yellow/greenish gross stuff out of my nostril. Not huge pieces, but relatively speaking, big enough to notice. When I get home, I have seen worse. I work in an office with crappy air quality. I am convinced that using this machine has helped me breathe better and I am not clearing my throat as often. Ok so some other things I've found on the internets that has helped me too: - I'm avoiding sugary drinks. Something about sugar gets me really phlegm-y. Until someone pointed it out and asked me to give it a 1 week try, i was oblivious. I am a big coffee drinker and a 1 soda a day person. No longer. I'm not cold turkey cutting both out, but I'm trying to drink... - ...drink more hot water! boy, this has REALLY helped. I read that hydrating is very important for nasal discharge and mucus flow. I'm a big cold water with ice drinker. but now in the office i try to drink hot water. it seems to help alot - dairy: another thing I cut out. i used to eat yogurt in the morning. I've cut that out too. Ironically, I've been working out at a gym called Crossfit as of January. They are big proponents of the Zone and Paleo diet. I recently purchased the Paleo diet. Guess what? 2 of the things I wrote above are contributors of autoimmune and allergies in the body (sugar and dairy). So I am taking this as more evidence that I should avoid those foods and/or consume only in minimal quantities. I do have the Vicks Inhaler. I like that as a side treatment now. I usually use it while I surf the internet in the late evenings. I do put a drop of Eucalyptis and Peppermint oil in it to open up my sinuses. But believe me folks, this irrigator is really awesome. Oh the other thing i wanted to address: some people have complained it is noisy. Well, it is a mini-water pump. So yes, it makes noise but its not unbearable. Actually its not bad at all. I think some people would rather see the cons rather than the pros.

Fantastico prodotto!

Great product, with great customer service
I rarely take the time to write a review on Amazon, but decided to make an exception for the benefit of my fellow sinus problem sufferers. I have had sinus problems for about 4 years now, and have had a total of 3 surgeries to help them drain, with pretty limited success. I decided to purchase an irrigation system after having it recommended by my ENT. After reviewing my choices, I read the reviews for both the Grossman and the SinuPulse and decided on the SinuPulse after reading reviews that said the Grossman stopped working after several months and that the SinuPulse has a 2 year warranty. I have had my SinuPulse for 11 months as of today. A week or so ago, my irrigator began to have trouble sitting in the bottom, and the water was coming out more like a drip then a stream, after 11 months of daily use. I emailed customer service and they called me back a few hours later, on a holiday no less. The representative told me that if I used a little Vaseline on the O ring underneath the tank, it would fix the problem. If not, then we could figure out if I needed a new one. He said that the O ring dries out from all the saline and I should do the Vaseline trick a few times a year. I tried it and my machine is now working perfectly again. I was so impressed with the service I decided to write a review. Now for the good part- my sinuses are much better! This is not a miracle cure, however, as long as I use this daily, I have had maybe one sinus infection in the last 11 months, whereas I used to get them almost monthly. I will share with you my "secret" sinus rinse recipe that keeps my sinuses under control: First saline, I prefer the Xtra Strength kind from NeilMed, it comes in a green package. Then, I add Alkalol, a mucous solvent (just a little) to the saline powder. If I feel a sinus infection coming on, I will also add some Xylitol and a few drops of grapefruit seed extract (GSE). GSE is a natural antibiotic. Now these add-ins may sting slightly at first, so you may need to increase the amounts slowly. I find that if I even miss irrigation for one day I am extremely congested and miserable the next day, so don't skip! During allergy season sometimes I will rinse twice a day. All in all, this is a wonderful product that I highly recommend for anyone with allergy/sinus trouble. I wonder if I would have been able to avoid some of my surgeries if I had started irrigating every day when my sinus problems started. It is totally worth it for the money, not to mention all I'm saving on doctors visits and antibiotics! Update: I have now had this machine for 5 YEARS and it is still going strong! Cannot recommend it enough!
