Suitable for English Bulldogs
Great quality product Was recommended these for my English Bulldog due to their sensitive nature and neither I or my dog was disappointed. Great appearance and texture; varied size kibbles easy enough for him to locate and chew on. Will be buying more :)

Skinners is best!
This food is very good and is has a good amount of protein in it. I did my research when deciding on a dog food and found this to be the best quality one for the price. The food is in perfectly sized pieces for a small/medium dog. My dog loved the flavour and cant wait for dinner time! The dry food is better for the dogs teeth and my dogs are a perfect example of this. My dogs stomach seems great since moving onto Skinners food - which is the reason I switched. The food is for sensitive stomachs and hypoallergenic. The sack lasts my medium sized dog about three months which is very cost efficient. I also buy the salmon one-they seem to be doing really well for my dog she is very healthy and the fur is well conditioned. For anyone wanting healthy dog food at a reasonable cost this is the one to try! (and the Salmon and Rice skinners too!)

The best quality kibble food available in this price bracket
In this price range, this is the best quality kibble food available and that is the reason I have rated it five stars, not because it is the best overall. It is hypo-allergenic and free from many nasties that can cause issues such dairy and wheat. It also has a better meat content than the other kibble foods in this price bracket. My Lurchers like this food and they do well on it with the protein being a good level for them, and they have firm stools and healthy coats. However, I managed to buy some AATU 80/20 Duck Dog Food, 10 Kg at a heavily discounted price recently and they love that food far more. Sadly, I couldn't afford to feed it to them regularly though. If, like me, you're on a budget and want to ensure your dogs are eating the most healthy kibble you can afford, then this is the product to buy. If you have more money to spend, then I would highly recommend Aatu. And if you have lots of money to spend, then feel free to send me some Aatu too!

Great for dogs with sensitive stomachs
Very pleased with this, thought I'd give it a try after reading good reviews about it and having tried a few other dog foods in the same price range which didn't agree with our Doberman x rottweiller as she has a sensitive stomach. It's economical too as less food is needed, compared to the others that I have tried. Skinners duck and rice is a good quality hypoallergenic very natural dog food with excellent ingredients, our dog loves it and has no digestive problems with it at all, it seems to have cured her bad breath too which is a bonus. On a side note she didn't get on so well with the salmon and rice so I wouldn't buy that particular flavour again.

The perfect food for my dog.
I regularly buy this Skinner's Duck and Rice dog food on Amazon as it is not available in pet shops in Ireland. I do not often give 5 star but have not hesitation in doing so for this product. My Golden Labrador comes from a rescue and that rescue postponed delivering him to us several times as he suffered from severe diarrhea. Finally 2.5 years ago, we welcomed our dog with a warning that the vet had been unable to cure the dog's digestive problems and also with a (very expensive) bag of Hill's Science sensitive stomach dog food which the rescue gave us as it had been recommended by the vet. For weeks, there was no improvement in our dog's digestion and I search the internet for a miracle solution. This food was the only one that seemed to have none of the cereals and fillers that are the most common cause of allergy (wheat, maize...) and was at a price that allowed us to consider buying it for year to come if it agreed with our dog. Our dog has been eating that food for well over 2 years now (we sometimes buy the salmon and rice version for a change) and has never had any digestive problem since. Of course it could be because his initial stomach problem were due to our dog being stressed and would have settled with time whatever the food he was put on. That is the reason I had never reviewed this product before now. However, last month, I suddenly had to foster the dog (a golden retriever) of a good friend of mine as that friend suffered a stroke. My friend warned me that his dog suffered from diarrhea (in addition to multiple other ailments). As my friend's dog was delivered to me without food, I decided to feed him the same food as my dog. Last week, my friend left the hospital and I gave him his dog back. My friend was delighted by the state of his dog and even more so when I told him that his dog's digestion had been trouble free. So delighted in fact that he asked me to order double the quantity of Skinner's food so that his dog could continue eating it. Added to that the fact that people often comment on my dog's coat and how healthy he is, I definitely have no hesitation in recommending this food. I also like the fact that the Duck and Rice version barely has any smell and because the kibbles are relatively large but also light, it looks like our dog has a lot of food in his bowl. As for the taste, I can't say much: my dog and our guest dog love it but the are not picky tastewise.

Great
I have 3 cavaliers . All of them have sensitive tummie and 1 of my dogs was diagnosed with chronic bowl disease and ulcerated tummy last November so I had to find something that would agree with her and the rest followed. I found James wellbeloved Duck and Rice was pretty good for a little while but then I think they changed the ingredients . I came across Skinners and done a lot of research before I decided to go ahead with changing them over to this. Delivery was excellent and arrived the following day. The price is excellent as I was paying £28.95 for 7.5kg every 3 weeks for JWB .I introduced the food slowly mixing it with JWB and to my surprise the actually preferred the skinners. It's been a week now and I didn't think it was right to write a review just after I received it. Everything takes time but really I have had no upset tummies and no sickness. As they are on a strict diet and not allowed anything else this keeps them satisfied until the next meal. 3 happy dogs so far :)

First Class Food
Changed my dog over to this from Harringtons after they started sneaking in some other ingredients to their food. The changeover went without a hitch, gradually mixing over a fortnight, no upset stomach which is a miracle for a staffie that can keep a household awake with her rumblings sometimes She was always fine on Harringtons, if a bit windy (a staffie curse anyway) despite the ingredient claiming to stop wind! However, I wanted something with glucosamine, a higher specific meat content and maize free I have to say, there is a difference though I wasn't expecting such a result. She is less windy and her coat is gleaming-she looks like she has been polished. I don't know if the glucosamine will make any difference to her but she is middle aged now so think it is a good time to start Finally a note on packaging/delivery/best befores My bag did arrive with a small hole in-just looked like it had caught on something which is inevitable with so many packages flying about. No problems with delivery and the best before date was perfectly clear on my bag. Deary me......most importantly really-my girl loves it too!

Another batch that smells funny
We had a standing order for two bags a month for our dogs. When they arrived this time there was a very strong chemical type odour. Opening one of the bags resulted in the odour being far more noticable. This is not the first time we have had this problem. As this product has no option to be returned, once again we contacted Skinners directly. Skinners were very helpful and commented that they had been dealing with a number of similar issues from Amazon customers. They have again agreed to replace both bags. Having given Skinners the batch numbers we noticed that the bags were very close to the use by date and furthermore in the old style bags which I have been informed were phased out some months ago.. We have now opted to cancel the Amazon order and purchase locally as the cost difference is minimal. We felt that Amazon, in this instant, should be responsible as the “retailer” however with no returns policy or contact information it fell to Skinners once more to resolve the issue. So in conclusion be aware of Amazon retailers when buying this product.
