I purchased a 4" battery operated candle that fit perfectly.

What kind/size of candles do you recommend for one of these?

I've only ever used tealight candles in my lantern. It gives off just the right amount of light and seems safer than using bigger candles. FYI: They do make tealight candles which are a little bigger than the regular size ones. They sell them on Amazon as well. Those are the ones I use.
