Brooding big-screen adaptation of the classic 1980s television crime drama from director Michael Mann. Undercover Miami-Dade police detectives Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell) and Rico Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) are summoned to help out on an FBI undercover operation that has gone disastrously wrong. Infiltrating a dangerous world of international drug dealers, somehow linked to a home-grown Neo Nazi group, Crockett and Tubbs pose as experienced criminals able to transport goods anywhere in the world. But as they dig deeper into the criminal underworld, Tubbs worries that the mission will be compromised as Crockett finds himself falling for drug dealer Jesus Montoya's (Luis Tosar) girlfriend, Isabella (Gong Li). When the two cops are sold out by a rival dealer in the operation, Crockett and Tubbs break cover and lead their team to a climactic, brutal show-down.

AWESOME NOT LACKLUSTER
Awesome movie Metallica Through The Never DVD its got to be up there with Led Zep The Song Remains The Same if not better. The movie had a mixed response but I thought it was Awesome who cares if Trip the roadie storydoesn't make sense as some claim I just loved the movie as a whole. All the classic songs were their like Master Of Puppets and of course Enter Sandman.I will not spoil it just watch it and enjoy it.The soundtrack almost blew my Smart TV speakers to bits heavy on the base a couple of the songs are.But thats what I call a concert even if its only on DVD it must have been great to be there in the flesh.I wasn't much of a Metallica fan but I will check out more of their albums.AWESOME!

Great remake of the original series.
Farrell and Fox are on form with a glossy and stylish action film that somehow manages to keep that 80's feel, yet still feel as though it is set currently. It is a beautifully shot film with loads of action and some magnificent sceanes that work really well with the chosen music.

Love it and is a must for all Metallica fans
Love it and is a must for all Metallica fans. The stage is amazing and the band crank out many of their top tunes along with a little story line to add to this making it a film also with a little story line. I am not going to spoil it by saying to much here about the story aspect in this film but can say if you buy this you will not be disappointed.

A great, one of a kind film. A must for 'Tallica fans. Dull extras though...
This is a concert film and the centrepiece therefore is the actual gig, the story feels a lot like an add on or break more than it does an essential or integral part but nonetheless is pretty enjoyable.Seeing as the set is essentially a Metallica 'Greatest Hits' (although with quite a few obvious absenntees - 'Whiplash,' 'Fade To Black,' 'Welcome Home/Sanitarium,' 'Blackened,' 'Sad But True' in particiular) there is little room for a cohesive storyline which feeds off of the songs as Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' does, but it works quite well. The sets are spectacular; 'Ride The Lightning's' Tesla Coils, '...And Justice's,' statue and the 'Master Of Puppets' sets are my favourites. Some are lot more stripped down e.g 'Creeping Death,' but the strength of the song and its performance makes it enjoyable nonetheless. The extras, whilst plentiful are for the most part filler really. The Q and A session a the Orion Festival in particiular drags on and although I am a big fan of the band, found it very dull as it was only questions that had more or less been answered by either watching the film or the more enjoyable 'Making Of' segment. It could be interesting to some, but honestly, save yourself some time and buy the normal version without the dull extras.

theatrical version
Unlike most other people I think this, the theatrical version, is an excellent movie but I was not too impressed with this blu rayI had to play the movie at a much higher volume than every other blu ray I have because the sound was too low.. this was not a dialogue problem either, I actually like the mumbled dialogue in the Miami Vice, no the entire soundtrack is low and didn't seem to be a great mix to me. It appears to have been compressed or something like that probably to address the dialogue complaints, but it definitely does not have the same range as the movie I saw at the cinema or on DVD.. the music at the start and the shootouts were both not significantly louder than the rest of the mix so there are definitely problemsThe picture is okay but because of the way it has been shot, especially the gritty nighttime scenes, it does not look outstandingOverall I think I actually prefer my DVD of this one and hopefully there will be a better release in the future. Four stars mostly for the movie not the blu ray quality

Classic Metallica
Great concert footage from Metallicas early era and tracks given a great full cinematic work over brilliant. Not so sure about storyline? Loses it's way ?

Awesome Film by Top Director!!
I bought this based on that its written and directed by Michael Mann, director of "Heat", one of my favourite films, although it is not as good as "Heat", its still a very good film which is more focused on undercover police, its a great story and a very enjoyable film to watch!!
