GREAT OLD STYLE FLY CATCHERS
I've only just got my order but I know how good they are from the ones used in the old fashioned kitchen in my Grandmother and Grandad's cottage way back in the 1950's. Unless the IQ of a fly has improved since then they will be doing the same gullible thing of landing on the very sticky strips to get mortally glued-on in my porch and tool shed these days too. You can't repeatedly spend loads of time and attention in obsessively trying to swat the little blighters, or spraying dubious stuff out from aerosol cans. Just relax and allow the spirals of sticky paper do the job for you, even when your not around. After nearly 60 years of not seeing them I didn't even know if these things were made anymore so I was very glad when I found a source for them. Good, effective. old style, fly catchers. In fact they would put paid to any flying insect that landed on the gluey paper stripsEamonn

Very sticky. Works well.
I bought these to put in my poly greenhouse as the flies (over all varieties) were getting in in their hundreds and either hanging around the roof space or crawling all over my pepper and chilli plants. I didn't want to use flies killer spray in case it harmed my plants or affected the fruit so I bought these. They are easy to use. You just hold the tube and pull out the string slowly with an anti clockwise motion to uncoil the paper. The paper is highly gooey and sticky. It comes with a tack(drawing pin) to secure it in place but I couldn't use this in my poly greenhouse, so I looped the top over the wire frame and secured it with an old clothes peg.It worked great. Within a day I had caught most of the flies. I will just keep replacing these as they become full.An improvement for my situation would be an alternative fixing measure, a string to tie it up instead of,or as well as the tack.

Die-Fly-Die!
FIRSTLY: These fly-papers are magic! In just FOUR days all three papers were encrusted with defunct flies. I counted 73 'bodies' (shudder!) on just ONE paper in just ONE day, and made a rough estimate as to the other two... Serious serial elimination!SECONDLY: Have just placed an order for 2(more) x packs of 10 - that proves how efficient I find them... A friend will be bringing them over for me as, unfortunately, no delivery available to Portugal.BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Living in a small fourth-floor apartment in Lisbon makes wide open windows a must. A toss-up between flies or fresh air! Can't use insecticide sprays because of my cat. We DO keep the place clean - no food or other fly-attractions left lying around.HOT TIP: Unwind the rolls in a slow ANTI-CLOCKWISE downward movement (a bit tricky!) and hang (selotape-in-my-case) in a CENTRAL position. Our ceilings are very high so I looped string through the pink tab to get the papers in line with the lazy mid-circling-fly path. You soon get used to dodging the 'dangle' and they work like a charm!

effective and reasonably priced
This is a pack of 10 fly papers - and I've found them to be highly effective. They obviously attract the flies to them, and these papers are so sticky that the insects are securely stuck. I was somewhat reluctant to buy these, as they've rather cheap - and I didn't know if they'd work. However, I'm very satisfied.Occasionally our house gets inundated with flies - and these are perfect at getting rid of them. If you're a fly problem, I recommend this item.

Does the job.
They do the job as described, however the drawing pins break very easily and the ribbon for hanging comes away very easily also. I have found that I have to remove the wax like seal on the top with a pair of scissors as it doesn't come away very easy at all when trying to pull out the strip. Great value for the price though and within a few hours of hanging the strip all the flies were trapped on it.

Cheap and useless
Completely useless for those bluebottles that annoy you the most. Does seem to catch very small flies though.Messy to set up and ugly when in use. Put one on a window frame behind a venetian blind where it was sure to catch some bluebottles I thought. Could see and hear a few flying around against the glass. But they were not attracted to the sticky paper in any way. One did get trapped on it by I suspect bouncing off the glass and hitting it with its wings. Others just buzzed around it as if it wasn't there.

Location, location, location.
Works well but must be in the right location to catch flies.

Did the job for me, think about position
Got these during summer as had really bad case of flies in the house. I think success depends on strategic positioning. They unrolled fine. Were a bit sticky and awkward to handle. I put one above my Guinea pigs cage and it was covered in flies in no time. Very satisfying! Don't put one anywhere where anyone might walk into it! ;)
