How well do your bluetooth earbud work on phone calls?

They work great for me......regardless of it's low cost. I prefer using headphones over talking directly to a phone.

There are conflicting comments: does this use a usb c or micro usb connection for charging?

The Bluetooth headphones needs to be charged using a Micro USB cable.

When I connected this headset the songs play slower then they should. Anyoe else experience this?

Why does the battery go dead so fast ? just sitting on my desk it goes dead in 12 hours.

Do you turn it off when not in use? You could have a slow battery leak. You could have a defective device. The pamphlet did say 12 hr of talk and 15 hr of music after full charge.
