8 Sheet (375x265mm) Door Pack Car Sound Deadening/Proofing

This is great stuff and good value in comparison to the market leader. I've used these in the doors and boot of a MK1 MX5 and every flat surface of a Land Rover SIII 109". In the Mazda they've reduced door hum considerably and helped improve the imaging on the in-door speakers. An hours work for a significant reduction in cabin noise. On the Land Rover obviously noise reduction is going to be marginal but they do make an immediately noticeable reduction in rattles, shake and the every day cacophony of these vehicles. Particularly effective around the transmission tunnel and footwells and absolutely great in the rear toolbox areas. The added weight of these pads on the panels are very effective. Very easy to cut with a pair of household scissors and simple to apply once you've given the surface a brush and a clean.

I've used this alongside more expensive products from the established market leaders and despite my initial reluctance to admit it, this stuff from Silent Coat is just as good. IF (and that's a big if)' it does fall short in terms of performance figures, it certainly isn't noticeable to the human ear. Mass loading is not an exacting science, it is purely adding mass to an object to reduce unwanted vibration, the trick is to do this whilst keeping the weight to minimum. I have deduced that there is very little speaker performance to be gained by covering more than 60-65% of the surface area of a panel with Silent Coat so the 0-60mph figures aren't impacted noticeably. I've fitted it a particular cars doors, roof and floor and found it very easy to work with. The product is easy to cut with a pair of kitchen scissors and adheres very well to a clean surface. The backing peels off nicely and there is no discernible smell. So, as hard as it is to admit, I've probably been wasting money on the more expensive products. There are probably fanboys out there who may disagree but for myself who generally doesn't get caught up with labels and branding blurb, this is now my product of choice.

Silent Coat has made a huge difference to my car. Although I only used a front door kit, the interior seems much quieter and I only wish I had bought more for the rear doors etc. I used to have my bluetooth kit on max to hear the caller. Now I can reduce the volume and still hear perfectly.

I must admit I was just a tad sceptical when I read the previous reports, surely nothing this cheap is this good. Well I fitted in all four doors this afternoon and the difference is astounding, I actually have bass tones from the crappy factory fit speakers in my C4 Picasso. When the new Vibe Slick 6 speakers arrive next week I can't wait to hear the difference. If you only do one job to improve the sound from your car stereo then do this one, the results are worth the £20 investment and more. Very happy bunny here.

I found this sound proofing material did exactly what it said on the box, very easy to use but be careful when you cut it the edges can be sharp. Excellent product.
