Are these 9/16” or 1/2”?

9/16” - I understood this was the usual standard

I'm sure this will sound like a dumb question but what are the washers used for?

Put the washer over the threads and screw the pedal on. Washer goes on before pedal

Can the skid pins be easily replaced...or removed if wanted?

It can be easily removed if you have the pedal pin tool.
