A good set of play money
This set of play money completely met my needs. I was looking for quite a realist set of play coins for the kids to use in their shop. The coins are realistic, both the size, shape and appearance represent British currency well. The colours look good, with a metallic finish. The numbers and words are embossed well. The notes are just as realistic and a good childs representation and introduction to notes. The fonts, colouring, words and format all share good similarities with Sterling currency. Even down to the serial numbers. The notes themselves are slightly glossy paper. It comes with a plastic sorting tray which is ideal for storage or perfect if you don't have a toy till. The cardboard box it comes in is strong enough quality for you to put the coins away and take them out for storage. Overall a great set of play money.

Great Learning Tool and Fun to use!
Great value for Money No Pun intended lol Notes are paper but the sturdiest ones I have found so far. Coins are realistic too. Only criticism is the coin sorting tray is quite light and flimsy so care needs to be taken not to damage, especially with younger kids

Good for a first set or topping up play money
Brilliant little play money set. Packaged well. Arrived in a nicely designed, cardboard box. I purchased this to top up the kids play money. I liked that the coins are replicas of real money, this helps the kids learn to recognise the coins and notes, help them learn math and more. The set comes with a thin, white, plastic tray, this isn't too flimsy. You get stickers that look like the money, these are for the individual slots, at the bottom, on the tray, to help the little ones recognise the money, colours, shapes etc. You get - 6 x ยฃ50 6 x ยฃ20 6 x ยฃ10 6 x ยฃ5 10 x ยฃ2 10 x ยฃ1 10 x 50p 10 x 20p 10 x 10p 10 x 5p 10 x 2p 10 x 1p The notes are nice and thick, pieces of paper. All are differently coloured to make it easier. The coins are a good thickness. The larger coins are made up of two sealed, pieces of plastic. They are the right size and colour as real money. I would recommend this set. I wish the tray had of been a little thicker but it's not the worst for the price. I think you get a good amount of money to play with, all looking like real money. Fantastic for topping up play money or for a first set.

Excellent quality from Galt
Although costing a bit more than others available, if you buy Galt then you can be reassured of a well thought-out quality product - and this play money is no exception. Durable and realistic. Highly recommended.

Very good
This is a bit more expensive than some play money sets, but I think it's worth it. The sizes are right, the notes are paper rather than plastic, but tough paper and printed with a different design on each side. The coins are the right sizes and shapes, but lightweight compared to the real thing as they're plastic. The sorting tray is ok, but probably won't last ages as it's quite brittle plastic. There are plenty of each denomination to make change. We bought it to play restaurants and shop. You'd not get away with using it to purchase anything in an actual shop, but for play money it's very realistic (though who has ever had six ยฃ50 notes in real life?).

Makes movie night expensive!
One of the key learning stages in KS 1 is all about money, and working out change. So now, when we have movie night, I have to pay for popcorn, and a drink and a cupcake, and pretty much everything else. But no matter what I give, I get perfect change back! This has been great for helping teach all about money! Also matches 'real' money for shape and colour to help.

Looks as much like real money as you could expect
These coins are much more like real money than others I have used in the past. They were bought for home schooling during lockdown and, on receiving them, my grandchildren and I immediately sorted out all the play money they had used for playing shops and threw most if the old stuff away. Teaching about coins and their value is a serious business so we needed our plastic money to look like the real thing. This fitted the bill pretty well.

The notes are fictional
The coins are perfectly acceptable UK currency, a little big and clunky but perfectly fine for use in school and at home. However, the notes are entirely fictional. I can't understand why you would match the appearance size and shape of the coins but not the notes. Maybe this might change in the future.
