How big are the wheels?

4 1/2 inches. The chair is hard to push with my husband in it - he is 155#. The locks are difficult. I needed narrow or I would send it back

Armrests, can I push on them to lift myself up without bending them? I'm 225lbs.

Probably. My husband weighs 190 & pushes up on them somewhat.

Is the back removable?

I haven’t tried but I doubt it. This chair is not worth your money. The wheels are very hard to unlock. I have to use my shoe and basically kick it. The wheels pivot do often the lock is under the chair where it cannot be reached. The wheels turn very hard on my very old flat carpet. The bucket doesn’t slide in easily. The seat fits over our standard toilet but is above it so urine etc splashes out the open sides. The chair fits over our high Kohler toilet but still messes up the outsides. All in all, this chair is suitable as a chair with a bucket but to move it requires strength so not suitable for a small or senior caregiver.
