Perfect for Seed Starting and Soil Improvement!
I recently purchased the Gro-Sure Vermiculite, 10 L for my garden, and I am incredibly pleased with it! This vermiculite is lightweight, easy to mix with compost or potting soil, and helps retain moisture in the soil, which is perfect for seed starting. It also improves aeration, ensuring my plants have the right balance of moisture and oxygen for healthy growth. I have just used it (March) to start some vegetable seeds, and the results have been fantastic. It creates a great environment for seeds to sprout without them becoming waterlogged. Plus, it's easy to handle and doesn’t get too dusty, which is a bonus. The mix of compost and Vermiculite has given my tomatoes and lupin seeds a great start. I also added it to my garden soil to improve drainage, especially for some of my more sensitive plants, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in plant health. The 10 L size is ideal for smaller to medium-sized projects, and it goes a long way. Great value for the price, and I would definitely recommend it to fellow gardeners looking to enhance their soil or start seeds with ease.

Game changer 🧐
I’ve never used this before but I will definitely be using it more often now as my seedlings 🌱 have grown bigger than without it, wished I’d bought it sooner 🧐

Happy with this.
This 10L pouch of vermiculite feels light and fluffy straight out of the bag, with those classic golden flakes that look clean and consistent in size. It mixes really well into seed compost or potting mix, adding just the right amount of aeration without making things too loose. Seeds germinate noticeably faster and more evenly when I cover them with a thin layer—stays moist longer without getting soggy, and the insulation helps against temperature swings in the propagator. Nutrient retention is a big plus too; it holds onto feeds and releases them slowly so young roots don't miss out. No weird odours or dust clouds like some cheaper brands, and it's straightforward to use for pricking out seedlings or improving drainage in containers. The pouch size is handy for small-scale gardening without wasting any. Overall, it delivers reliable results for starting seeds and keeping plants happy, especially indoors or in tricky conditions.

Fairly fine grade; very useful to the gardener
There are several grades of this material that are generally available and this is fine enough to rate as medium-fine. The product previously purchased from a different source is considerably grittier than is this and classified by the seller as 'medium'. A useful product that has a variety of uses in the garden, in the greenhouse or even with indoor or patio plants. It can be used alone for the germination of seeds and with some cuttings; it will absorb moisture and nutrients and release them slowly over time. It is also sometimes used by those who rely upon hydroponics as a substrate for the roots to bed into. Mixed with a well-rotted compost and coir (coconut fibre) in certain proportions, it becomes an excellent growing medium that is almost impossible to over-water, drains well, and contains sufficient potential nutrients to grow on many plants. I have had considerable success with cuttings of various different plants planted into this mixture, some quite woody but others have been semi-hard or soft. Rooting seems to be quite quick, 7-10 days in some instances, but always within 2-3 weeks and with fewer that had failed to take than with a traditional peat-based alternative. I cannot claim 100% but it is around 80-90% successful, which is a significant improvement on about 30-40% with peat alone. It can also be used in the garden, mixed with existing soil to improve aeration and drainage. Add a well-rotted compost as well and it becomes a soil improver especially where the soil is mostly clay, although I have only tried it with small patches. Some suggest that it can be spread around those plants that are most susceptible to snail or slug attacks to help protect them as an alternative to sharp sand or rough gravel. Extremely light-weight, of completely natural origin and safe to handle and use, it is inexpensive and worthwhile for any gardener to have available.

Does what I needed
Bought for repotting some succulents. Does exactly what I wanted and my plants are nice and healthy. Good value at the time I bought this. Only issue is the amount of dust when getting it out the bag - I recommend wearing a mask.
