I decided to get rid of the run flats on my BMW partly for the ludicrous price and for ride comfort. I was dubious as the whether this would work but I was determined to ditch the run flats, so I thought I'd get one as it's better than nothing. I threw it in the boot and hoped for the best that I would never have to rely on it. However, 50 miles in to a 400 mile journey I got the dreaded warning light shortly followed by the dud dud dud of the tyre deflating. I pulled over as soon as I could and went to check out the tyre and found a 2mm hole in the middle of the tread. I had the sinking feeling as I thought "I hope the free recovery with my bank will cover this" and I don't end up with a £400 bill. I tried out the Slime kit as a last resort more than anything, I really had no faith in it, I thought there's no way a bit of green goo can fix a flat. The instructions are simple and anyone can do it, you literally just drive forward so the hole is at the bottom, use a little plastic tool that comes with the kit to remove the valve core. Take the green goo and connect the tube to the bottle and valve then squeeze the whole bottle in then re-insert the valve core. Connect the compressor and pump up the tyre and watch in amazement as it actually inflates. Once the tyre was at the correct pressure I removed it and waited 5 minutes and re-checked the pressure. Still stunned at how this was working I carefully drove for a mile to the next layby and re-checked it, still working! I finished off the 400 mile journey with no problems and when I arrived I checked the pressure and it hadn't dropped at all. As a bonus the slime is washable and the tyre hadn't suffered any damage so the slime was washed off the the (nearly new) tyre was repaired and as good as new! If there is any minor point I'd say the pump gauge is about 5-10 PSI down from the real reading (I carry a good gauge in my car), and the compressor is a bit slow. These don't matter much and I would still rate this 6 star if I could.

Works well

I bought this as the equivalent tyre sealant supplied by Toyota for my iQ was out of date. Buying a replacement from them was prohibitively expensive. As far as I can tell -having checked the packaging, the items themselves, and the web site for Slime- there is no expiry date on this kit. Also, it fits extremely well into the cut out under the back seat of our iQ so does not rattle around under there. I have heard good things about this stuff from others, hence the reason I bought it. I give it four stars as I have been lucky enough not to have used it yet, despite a recent rear left puncture. It was a large piece of metal from farm machinery lying in the rural road I was using at the time. The tyre would not have inflated the 3 inch hole in the middle of the tread, and it was 3 inches inside the tyre! Carry a spare if you can, I am now as I do not another 4 hour wait to get a tyre changed.

Luckily I haven't had to use the slime it comes with but the pump itself is very easy to use, accurate on PSI readings and very fast. The machine doesn't leak and is just big enough to leave in the glove box. Great quality pump, I am just hoping I don't need to use the slime/foam with it as it is for emergencies only.

Ho acquistato questo kit Slime due anni fa proprio perché non sono capace di cambiare una ruota forata, e volevo un’alternativa pratica al classico ruotino di scorta. I materiali sembrano di buona qualità: il kit include un compressore da collegare alla presa accendisigari e un flacone di sigillante, il tutto in una confezione compatta e ben organizzata. Il vantaggio più grande, per il mio uso quotidiano, è lo spazio recuperato in auto: al posto del ruotino di scorta ingombrante, questo kit occupa molto meno posto nel bagagliaio, il che è particolarmente comodo se il baule non è già molto capiente. Al momento non posso valutarne l’efficacia reale perché fortunatamente non ho ancora avuto occasione di doverlo usare, e spero di non doverlo fare! Dalle informazioni del produttore, comunque, il sigillante rimane attivo per circa due anni e la riparazione promette di richiedere solo 15 minuti, senza bisogno di sollevare l’auto con il cric o smontare la ruota. In sintesi: prodotto ben fatto e salva-spazio, ottimo da tenere sempre in auto per tranquillità. Il giudizio definitivo sull’efficacia resta in sospeso, non avendolo ancora testato sul campo.

J’ai hésité longuement à acheter un produit de ce genre, étant souvent sur la route, dans un pays où les station-service sont en générale pas ou équipées de gonfleurs défectueux j’ai été agréable surpris. Pneu de 225 sur grosse berline essais sur aire de repos. Branche sur allume cigare moteur tournant, vérification et repressurisation des pneus en quelques minute. Le manomètre est fiable ayant par la suite effectué une vérification, produit qui peu vous éviter bien des désagréments.

Lo usé, ya que pinché una rueda, supongo que fue un tornillo ya que cuando me salió el aviso de presión de las rueda y paré a mirar la rueda, estaba desinflada pero no había nada. Utilicé el producto, es muy rápido, lo que más tarda es el compresor en inflar, pero es ideal para salir del paso. Llevo casi 3 meses con la reparación que hice (fui al taller donde compro mis neumáticos y me dijeron que mientras se quede sellado, se puede dejar, no hace falta hacer nada más) y todavía no se ha desinflado. Producto estupendo.
