Excellent value for money
This is an excellent little wood lathe, great value for the price. A solid cast iron frame give a stable working platform. The motor is strong enough with a variable speed control for different diameters and materials. The MT1 arbour fittings in then head stock and tail stock mean a good range of accessories can be fitted. The 3/4"UNF appears compatible with Clarke equipment. Good size for those with not too much room in the workshop. I'm very pleased.

Not as sturdy as it looks when turning
This is a heavy unit, but when turning doesn’t have the power to back it up. I turn pens so nothing heavy and at full speed it doesn’t take much to stop turning. Very disappointed, turned 1/2 a pen and having touched it since, wasted money but had thrown out the box

Not worth the money
I purchased this as a gift but sadly it is not up to the job. Whilst purchased for my son in 2017, he didn't start using it until during lockdown (March 2020). It lasted precisely a month. We have called Draper countless times as to why it would stop working and they keep telling us to call back. This has been going on for three weeks. There is no trouble shooting information online that we can use to try to remedy the situation ourselves and it seems that, despite our best efforts, we paid over the top for a product to use for 4 weeks. We could have hired a larger model for less money. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

The motor could do be a bit more powerful.
When turning larger diameter pieces it is eay to stall the motor.

Does what it is supposed to
So far so good! Haven’t had the problems that others have experienced so far but I haven’t had the time to use it as much as I would like just yet so I will report back and change the review if anything else changes on this front. Does exactly what I want it to and is not overly noisy so I am pleased with this purchase so far. The price I paid for this has definitely been worth it with the amount of use that I know I will get from it. Would recommend this to anyone.
