Animal Friends of Pica Pau: Gather All 20 Colorful Amigurumi Animal Characters

Oh Pica Pau friends, you are one adorable bunch! So I mostly do crochet reviews here, because I buy too many crochet books. And this one is easily one of my favorite crochet books ever, with the most wonderful designs, patterns which are exactly "you get what you see" and really great instructions. Apart from the whimsical adorable design of the toys, the methods used are super interesting with the body and head mostly crocheted as one piece, which, OMG, I love because it means less sewing at the end. You get the four animals on the cover, plus 16 more including a bear, a unicorn, a dragon, a platypus, a wolf, a badger, a fox-like animal, a pig, a panda and more. And all of them are just as adorable as the ones you can see. I am obsessed, I already made 4 and I was also pleasantly surprised of the size of the toys - they are very huggable. Maybe most of the patterns are slightly on the intermediate side, but please do not let your beginner status stop you from buying and trying this book! Excellent designs, perfect instructions of many different stitches and techniques, no mistakes or ambiguities so far. 5++++ stars!

What a wonderful book! I love crochet and amigurumi anyway but had been waiting for this book to come out for some time and I was not disappointed. A great book with lots of gorgeous patterns in from dogs dragons unicorns and even the cutest little puffin bird you could ever meet. There’s a comprehensive how to guide with getting started pages in the introduction followed by each pattern. The pattern images are wonderful making great references when piecing together your amigurumi. The instructions are clear with instructions of when to stuff and add safety eyes (a feature I particularly like as some patterns don’t offer this). I’ve nade up 2 of the animals so far one pictured the jack Russel dog, the deer and I am working on the bat and the dragon. Wonderful instructions that also allow for your own interpretation on colour and yarn. Worth every penny of course and with prime I got my book the next day which is an added bonus. Very happy crocheter.

I have bought this book as a Christmas present for myself to try and craft some toys. When it finally arrived I was impressed by how colourful this book was! There were lots and lots of pictures, great introduction on how to make your first steps into crocheting. And I must admit I have never found crocheting easier! The instructions are easy to follow, and even projects that have 3 stars in difficulty turned out fairly easy to do. Toys turn out quite big, so it is definitely something you could gift to a child. I loved the fact that the toys she presents in the book are not same old teddy bears and bunnies, but you can find bats, crocodiles and dragons too! The only downside of the book for me was that not all of the step by step instructions were very clear so I had to Youtube some of the techniques, but didn't find an issue with that. It might just be that i learn better when i can see someone showing me how to do certain techniques instead of looking at pictures. All in all would definitely recommend this to anyone that want to start their journey into crocheting!

I absolutely adore this book. The instructions are so clear and easy to follow and everything is adorable. This is the book that taught me to crochet amigurumi well and really built up my confidence. I used to only follow YouTube tutorials that explained the pattern, but after using this book I felt confident reading any pattern. I've made lots of the animals from this book and from the 2nd book and they've all turned out so cute. I sometimes sell them at craft fairs and I've made a few for friends and they've been so well received every time. 100% recommend this book!!

I have Yan's previous book and I absolutely loved it. Crocheted many of its patterns and now needed more alternatives (if you understand the "need" in crocheting terms ;) ). I saw this new book was available and just could not resist buying it. The patterns are wonderfully explained and the photos are very helpful, as usual. The beginning of the book also provides an insight into her techniques and plenty of tips, which result in the most beautiful, sweet and professional looking cuddly toys. This patterns make great gifts for family, friends and charity, the book will be appreciated by crocheters and the toys by everyone, and with Xmas just around the corner.. oh, go on.

I absolutely love this book. One of, if not THE best Amigurumi books out, I'm now struggling to find another that's as good. Great layout, pictures and diagrams that are a breeze to follow and easy to understand. Really cute projects that have a wonderful mix of techniques and skill sets that mean not one project is the same and keeps your interest.

This book is detailed and on the whole easy to follow. I made a few amigurumi things before I got this book, so if you’re completely new it might help to watch some YouTube videos first. The designs are very well written. I bought one book, saw the quality of it and bought her other two. I’ve made four animals from across the books as gifts and very pleased with the results.

I bought this book for one pattern which a customer requested as a commission, and I LOVE every single pattern inside! The book is beautifully well-made and patterns are easy to follow. Unknown crochet stitches are explained in the book too so you don't have to go searching how to do something. I love it!

Love this book. Patterns comes with lots of details and any newbie crocheter can create amigurumi with detailed instructions. Happy to receive this book in India. Excellent packing and delivery on time.

Il design di questi amigurumi è davvero unico, il libro è davvero molto interessante. Ci vuole una minima conoscenza dei punti base di uncinetto , e poi si possono realizzare tutti i progetti.

This book of crochet plushies are beautiful, however Amazon charges you more for the book than what it’s originally priced at €18.50. So the review is more for the over pricing, but I’d definitely recommend this book.
